That she makes me think, makes me think,
That I try, that I try, that I'm trying too hard again

Everything from the moment they decided who was playing for who's letter seemed to drag on. Every second felt like an hour, and Henry's head ached more than she could ever remember.

She sat on the cold, stone floor, in front of Matty. Though he was up and down a lot tending to the fire, she leant her head between his legs. He played with her short hair, keeping her as calm as possible: but it was difficult. All of them were so tense, so afraid.

Then, the phone rang, and Danny ran to pick it up. He nodded for a moment before saying.

  "It's for Henry... Matty?"

The diver removed himself from his seat, and towards the phone. Danny replaced him so that Henry had someone to hold onto, whilst everyone focused on one of the two.

When Matty put the phone down, he walked around for a while, listing the words that had been said to him. Then the computer switched on, and he raced over. Straight away he typed the letters and numbers in.

    Incorrect.

Henry's heart sank as she half covered her eyes. But then, the noise came through.

     Correct.

"Oh my God." She jumped up, tears dribbling once again. "Oh my God." She wrapped her arms around Matty. Henry kissed all over his face, everywhere she could. "I love you."

Matty breathed a sigh of relief as he pressed his lips to hers lightly. "Love you too."

Louise was next called to the phone, and got Frankie's correct first try. There was no more pressure for her, but Henry began to feel sick.

Then, she was called to the phone. She would rather be anywhere else but there in that minute.

"Henry, the Wifi code for Matty's letter from home is: seven, two, underscore, c, question mark, r."

——— ——— ———

"It was awful," Henry mumbled. "Like, as soon as I heard it, I seemed to forget it. But, I knew the one way I always remember things... singing."

——— ——— ———

To the tune of Sweet Caroline, Henry spun around the camp. She couldn't help it, but it was the only way she stood a chance of getting Matty's letter.

"Seven, two- bum, bum, bum." She tapped her feet, waiting for the computer to turn on. "Underscore, c, q mark, r."

Then, it turned. The black screen switched to green, and Henry quickly typed in the tune. Thankfully, it came up well.

     Correct.

No words were spoken between the couple this time because no words were needed. He locked her in a keen embrace, his lips brushing her forehead. Theirs breaths mingled, eyes locked. This was his thank you- Henry knew it.

——— ——— ———

"It was so stressful." Henry breathed out, tears in her eyes. "I can't believe that I did it, and I managed to get Matty his letter." She wiped her eyes a little, stopping the redness and swelling that was bound to come. "Sorry... I'm just so happy."

——— ——— ———

Henry and Matty sat in each other's embrace as they waited for everyone else to get their letters, or not. There was no pressure on them anymore, and it felt good, but still they were worried for their friends.

David then got Danny's correct, and the actor could barely contain his relief. Then, successively, Frankie collected Simon's letter, Simon snagged Louise's, Arlene got Naughty's and vice versa- then it went wrong. No matter how hard she tried, Kadeena couldn't get Adam's: she was heartbroken. Despite being told it didn't matter, she felt distraught. It was Adam's turn after that for Kadeena, and after two tries, managed it.

Then the worst of the day came. Danny had been pressurising himself from the second he took David's name. When the time came, he just couldn't snag it. He couldn't get it right, and was the most upset he'd ever been. Even with David's reassurance, Henry could see his raging sorrow.

——— ——— ———

"He looked so sad, and I just wanted to make it better, and I can't." Henry breathed. "He's one of my best friends here, and I hate to see him upset."

——— ——— ———

"Danny." The actress pulled her friend closer once she'd escaped from Matty. He needed comforting, to know that people still cared for him. As soon as they hugged, the actor began to sob. "It's alright."

  "I feel so selfish."

"You're not, though." She promised. "You're one of the least selfish people I've ever met. Trust me."

  "But he got mine, and-"

"And what? He told you it doesn't matter, so it doesn't. Alright?"
