" wait, so you're telling me that Brooke was never pregnant?! I thought you said she took a test" . Alex said as her and Lucas sat on her bed catching up on the latest going ons win their lives while eating their favourite junk foods
" apparently it was a false positive, the doctor called her later to tell her that she wasn't but she lied when I asked about it" Lucas said knowing that the whole ordeal had been rather taxing and stressful on him
" so she told you she was pregnant to get back at you for cheating on her with Peyton? Wow, I mean talk about a woman scorned" Alex said before bitting into a twizzler as she thought about the lengths Brooke went to
" I know, I mean I knew she wouldn't let it go and would probably get revenge on but I didn't imagine this" Lucas said shaking his head as he knew that this love business was a little too much for him
" still I bet you're relieved that she isn't pregnant. I know mom is" Alex said knowing the whole thing had their mom questioning her parenting skills as she feared her son would relive the hardships she had
" oh I'm definitely relieved, I mean I'm sure I'd love the baby if there had been one but I'm glad it was a false alarm" Lucas said knowing that he wasn't ready for the responsibility of being a parent yet
" maybe things can go back to normal around here, although I don't know how normal things can be when mom and Keith are still distant" Alex said thinking about how things were still weird between them
" what's the deal with that? I thought she forgave him for the accident" Lucas said knowing things were still weird between their uncle and their mom but knew he was out of the loop with things
" she did I think but then on the night of the auction Keith kind of proposed to her and she kind of said no" Alex said laying back on her bed as she thought about how that accident had changed everything
" wait, what? Why did she say no? Why hasn't she said anything to me yet?" Lucas said suddenly filled with questions as he wondered how his sister could be so calm about something like this
" she said no because mom is just getting to the part of her life where she gets to figure out who she is, she never got that because she was busy raising us. And I think she's still processing it all" Alex said knowing her mom's head must be a mess right now
" wow.... do you remember when we were little and all we wanted was for mom and Keith to get married?" Lucas said coping her by laying on the bed with his head resting next to hers as they lay down
" all we wanted was for Keith to be our dad. Hell I still want that, I was kinda hoped she'd say yes when he did" Alex said sighing a little as she knew that this would be hard to come back from for them all
