Lucas and Alex were in the hospital for a few more days before beginning discharged, in that time the twins hadn't seen Keith due to the fact that Karen was still mad at him and was still shutting him out despite how much the twins protested about her current decision concerning that particular Scott male especially when she seemed to be placing the Scott brother higher up than before. Karen had tried to talk to the twins about how Dan had saved them when Keith's drunk driving mistake had almost cost them both of their lives, however whenever she brought it up she was usually faced with Alex's short tempter for all things Dan Scott related. Since Alex and Lucas had both woken up, it had taken them a while to try and do simple things again like walking and moving around more as they adjusted to their wounded bodies. Once both twins had been checked out of the hospital, they all headed home as Karen was wary about them being back in car for the first time since the accident although neither Alex or Lucas seemed affected since all they wanted was to get home despite doctor's order to rest.

" you two glad to be home?" Karen said while they drove home and were only a few blocks from their house as the silence in the car was becoming unbearable due to Lucas's brooding mood due to the doctor
" I'll be glad to be back in my own room and bed. God, I hate the smell of hospitals. They're so clinical and clean smelling" Alex said knowing she didn't want to go back to the hospital anytime soon
" I'll just be happy when I can play basketball again... if I can" Lucas said still thinking about how the doctor had told him that he might never play basketball again due to the damage done to his shoulder
" Luke, you will play again. You just need to give yourself to heal then work it back from there" Alex said knowing that his days basketball again wouldn't come any quicker with his wallowing and brooding
" easy enough for you to say, you're not the one that was told that they might not get to play basketball again" Lucas said knowing Alex's injuries weren't as damaging as his were but no less severe
" maybe but now I have this stunning and very large scar on my stomach to constantly remind me that I had a piece of glass in my stomach... you know perspective" Alex said sounding a little bitter
" enough, you two... you know the nurse said you set a new VWU record, Luke. Visitors While Unconscious. And Alex, surprisingly you got more visitors than I would have thought" Karen said knowing her daughter was less of a people person than her son was
" I've been on my best behaviour lately which means less sneering and less scaring people away" Alex said with a fake cheerful smile as Karen chuckled at her response as she looked back at her
" maybe you should keep that up. Let me see... Whitey came to see you and Deb and the guys from the River Court" Karen said trying to remember who else came to see them as they reached the house
