Saving Belle

Chapter 42

Enzo's POV: 

I heard a knock on my office door. 

I could tell it was Belle cause no one else is polite enough to knock. 

"Come on in Belle." 

"How'd you know it was me?" 

"You have manners. What's up?" 

"Did you know they have parks just for dogs?" 

"Um yeah?" 

"Do you think I could go to one sometime? That seems like the best thing to ever come to reality." 

I chuckled at her. 

She's been getting so much more comfortable lately. 

She talks at dinner and seems to really enjoy hanging out with the few people she trusts. 

"Well what are your plans today?" 

"Um you guys kind of tell me what my plans are most of the time." 

I didn't even realize that, but it's true. 

"Well would you like to go with me today?" 

"You would come too?" She said with a smile. 

"Of course, why wouldn't I?" 

"We don't hangout that much." 

"Do you want me to be the one to bring you?" 

"It's ok if you're busy." 

"I'd love to take you. How about just you and I?" 

"Can Echo come too though?" 

"Of course, but go grab a sweatshirt it's cold outside. I'll meet you downstairs." 

"Ok. Thank you." She left with a smile on her face. 

As I was closing up and about to head downstairs Ian and Leo came into my office. 

"Did you know Belle has the most manners of everyone in this family." 

"That's not a secret. Anyways where are you going?" 

"To a dog park with Belle, why?" 

"What? I wanna come." 

"Me too." 

"No you guys are so much closer with her than I am. It's only fair I get some bonding time. I'll take pictures." 

"Jerk." 

When Belle and I were in the car it was quiet. 

"Can I ask you a question?" 

"Of course. You can ask me anything." 

"Was your Dad, my Dad?" 

"He was." 

This is the first time she's brought him up.

No one really talks about him around the house. 

"What was he like?" 

"When I was growing up he was the perfect Dad, but like all of us he changed when you were taken. He became cold and closed off. We all did." 

"Oh.." 

"He loved you dearly. We have a few pictures of you two. Would you like them?" 

"Yeah I think so." 

"I'll have them printed." 

When we got to the park her eyes lit up at all the dogs. 

She was running around with Echo and Echo was getting really hyped up. 

"Come on Enzo!" She said laughing. 

We were running around having a good time for hours. 

I didn't even care that I probably ruined my suit. 

It was quite muddy today. 

She kept apologizing, but it was really fine. 

I have other suits. 

It was so good to see her smiling. 

I texted Ian to try and find the photo's of everyone when she was a baby. 

He just texted me. 

"Hey Belle I have a few baby photo's of yours. If you wanna see." 

She skipped over here. 

I scrolled through them. 

"That was me?" 

"You were the cutest baby ever." 

"I've never seen a baby photo of myself before."
