Third Pov

All the hunters were so eager to get the answers that they all quickly swore on the Styx. After that they all turned to Hestia, looking at her for answers. " Who is that guy my lady? What is he doing with lady Artemis?" Atalanta asked her. " Well huntress, that would be Perseus, Son of Poseidon and Aphrodite. He is the god of Time, Tides, Heroes, Loyalty, Combat and Night and about him being with Artemis, well you can say he is her boyfriend ". All the hunters except the three who went for the quest were slack-jawed at this statement. But their confusion soon turned into anger. " What do you mean he is her boyfriend? Lady Artemis has sworn on Styx to never have a romantic relationship. If she breaks the oath, there would be serious repercussions. If that guy is her boyfriend, she could be sent to Tartarus or put into a slumber for the next century as a punishment." Tracy all but screamed at Hestia. Hearing this Hestia sighed. She then looked at the hunters and saw them all staring at her in disbelief. She shook her head then asked, " How many of you know about Artemis other than what is said on the myths?" All the hunters looked around and no one responded except for a very few older hunters like Zoe and Phoebe who put their hands up. " And none of you know about Perseus"? Hestia asked and all of them except Zoe dropped their hands. " I take it that you know about Perseus," Hestia asked and Zoe nodded. " How do you know about him? Did my lady tell you? " Phoebe asked Zoe. Zoe shook her head at Phoebe and said, " Remember Phoebe, I was a Heperide before joining the hunt and was born before the second generation Olympians. Thus I know about him. Lady Artemis didn't want to talk about him because he was a painful memory to her." Zoe told to which Phoebe nodded. " What do you mean by painful memory? Did he do anything to my lady?" Stacey, another daughter of Athena asked Zoe. But before she could answer, Hestia interrupted." He didn't do anything to her huntress, it was a painful memory because we believed that Perseus faded". At this statement all the hunters stared at Hestia with clueless looks on their faces. Seeing this Hestia sighed. " It will be better if I explain the whole story to you girls so that there won't be any misunderstandings." She then motioned all the Hunters to sit down as she started the story. " Perseus was born a son of Poseidon and Aphrodite. He was born only a few days older than Artemis and Apollo. So when Artemis and Apollo were born, Aphrodite took young Perseus along with her to see the twins of Zeus and Leto. Perseus immediately became good friends with Artemis and Apollo because they were of the same age. Eventually, Perseus and Apollo formed a brotherly relationship while Artemis and Perseus formed a romantic relationship. When he grew up, the fates gifted Perseus with the domain of Time along with his other domains so that our Father Kronos will never rise again. Perseus and Artemis loved each other very much and their domains of moon and tides had an important role in it. They were always together, hunting in the
Forests or exploring the oceans. But that ended when the Titans captured Artemis. They knew that as long as Perseus lived Kronos will not reform. So they decide to kill him permanently. They promised that if he surrendered peacefully, they will not harm Artemis. Perseus surrendered to the Titans but they went back in their word of freeing Artemis. Perseus put up a good fight and rescued Artemis but he was stabbed in the back by a knife which was poisoned with a mixture of vapor of Styx and venom from the elder python. This mixture is the only thing that can force an immortal to fade or that is what we believe. To make sure he doesn't reform, Mnemosyne, the Titaness of memory and remembrance erased all of his memories from the mortal world. By the time the rest of the Olympians arrived to help, Perseus was already dead. In a fit of rage, Artemis took the poisoned knife and stabbed Mnemosyne, sending her to the realm of the faded as well. The rest of the titans flashed away immediately after seeing the Olympians arrive. After the incident, Artemis swore on Styx to never love another person romantically and to stay faithful to Perseus till she fades. She and Zeus prayed to the fates and they granted her the domain of virginity albeit reluctantly. After that Zeus granted her permission to start the hunt so that she could divert her focus from Perseus to something else. So actually Artemis never swore off love, she swore to only love Perseus. " Hestia ended the story and looked around to see all the hunters looking at her, wide-eyed and slack-jawed.
