Days pass...that turn into weeks....that turn into months. Waiting around was the worst part, Loren could be anywhere. For all we know she could be dead. Laura hasn't slept, she's barely eaten. Casey was trying his best to help but deep down he was struggling too. The team were trying there best, Hondo was beating himself up along with Chris. It was a Tuesday morning, Laura was headed down to headquarters. The team were now based in Chicago as they had taken on this case.
"Let me guess, no change?" Laura asks
"I'm so sorry" Hondo says
"Can I ask you something?" Laura asks
"Of course, anything" Hondo explains
"Is she alive or do I need to start planning a funeral with no body?" Laura asks
"We, I" Hondo says before starting again
"Let's focus on the positives okay?" Hondo says, flashing Laura a warm smile
"Laura, I didn't think you were dropping by today?" Chris asks
"I was um on my to donate some clothes that won't fit her anymore" Laura says
"We're going to get her back, we're working around the clock" Chris smiles
"I know you are and voights working on it as well" Laura smiles
Laura arrives home, the house is quiet. Until Voight pulls up next to her
"You okay?" He asks as Laura opens the door
"I think she's dead" Laura blurts
"What?" Voight asks
"You know they say that moms know things that other people don't about their kids? I have this feeling in the pit of my stomach, she's dead Hank. I can feel it" Laura sobs
"She's not dead! I'm not going to let that happen! I've got the whole district on this case. We're tracking every move this person makes, we're going to get Loren back" Voight explains
Meanwhile at the firehouse
"She's been quiet, she doesn't talk about it. I feel like she needs to start talking to try and deal with it" Casey explains
"It's hard, and how are you?" Boden asks
"I'm all good chief" Casey explains
"Hey Captain, Emma's in the common room" Herrmann explains
"Copy that" Casey says as he gets up
He walks into the common room
"What if Loren never comes home?" Emma asks
"Hey, what's brought on all this?" Casey asks as he sits next to her
"Some kids at school said she's never coming home because once she's been missing this long she doesn't have a chance" Emma says starting to shake
"Hey! We're going to get her back. I promise you!" Casey smiles as his phone goes off
He looks at his screen to see Laura's name
"Hello?" He answers
"They need us to identify a body..." Laura adds...
