I can hardly believe what I've just seen. My boyfriend of three years kissing another girl. But not just any other girl; my best friend. They have no idea I've caught them; I was at the supermarket buying a few bits and on my way out I noticed them down a back alley kissing very passionately.

I didn't dare approach them – I was too shocked in the moment and ran, tears streaming down my face, to my car. And now I'm standing outside my (new) best friend's house in tears. Trent answered the door, and his face fell into a look of concern instantly.

"Hey! What's going on?" He asked, stepping aside so I could enter the house.

"Jamie's cheating on me with Fiona!" I cried.

"What!" Trent exclaimed in shock and anger.

"I saw them down that alley near the supermarket practically eating each other's faces." I explained.

"(Y/N) I'm so sorry." Trent said, wrapping me in a friendly hug and allowing me to cry into his chest.

"I can't believe Jamie would do this! Three years we've been going out. Who knows how long he's been with Fiona." I sniffed, still crying.

"They're both pricks." Trent said to reassure me. We headed over to the couch to sit down.

"How do I tell them I saw them?" I asked Trent.

"You didn't tell them when you saw them?" Trent frowned. I shook my head.

"I was too shocked and angry so I just ran away." I told Trent.

"I'll call Jamie and give him a piece of my mind." Trent suggested. Trent seems very angry right now, so I'm not convinced that's a good idea.

"I'll do it." I said, taking out my phone and dialling Jamie's number. He answered pretty quickly.

"Hi babe, everything okay?" Jamie asked.

"Um, not exactly." I stuttered.

"What's wrong?" Jamie sounded concerned.

"I saw you and Fiona earlier...kissing." I said, my voice cracking.

Jamie remained silent for a few seconds, as Trent took my hand in his.

"You can't have done. Babe I'd never cheat on you." Jamie lied.

"Jamie I know it was you, don't even try it." I shouted into the phone. Again, Jamie was silent.

"Listen it's not what it looks like." Jamie tried.

"That's what they always say." I pointed out.

"We've only been seeing each other a few months." Jamie tried to justify.

"A few months!" I cried.

"Like three months." Jamie clarified.

"Mate you're not making this sound any better." Trent cut in.

"Who's that?" Jamie asked.

"Doesn't matter." I said. "What did I do wrong Jamie?" Again, silence.

"She deserves an explanation, especially since you've treated her like shit!" Trent exclaimed angrily.

"Seriously who is that?" Jamie asked.

"Seriously answer my question." I retaliated. Jamie sighed.

"You didn't do anything wrong. I just started falling in love with Fiona, so I told her how I felt and she suggested we just start going out. I was gonna break up with you I just didn't wanna hurt your feelings." Jamie explained.
