~Hoodie's P.O.V.~
I stood in the corner and watched as they bashed in Regina's head. It was one of the most disturbing things I've seen in years. I watched the bat come down over and over until her face was completely unrecognizable.
(Y/n) was a stone-cold killer. They weren't human anymore. They were a predator, and that scared me.
They stood straight up and turned to face me. Their mask was gone. An insane grin plastered their face. Their mouth changed. Their teeth became those of a wolf. A monster. They began to walk closer to me.
I couldn't move. I wanted to run, to scream, but nothing would happen. All I could do was stare as they raised the bat above my head and-
I jumped awake, barely managing to hold back a scream. 'It was just a dream,' I thought to myself.
I changed out of my sweat soaked pjs and into my regular hoodie and jeans. I went to the kitchen and grabbed a glass of water. My hands shook as I brought the glass to my mouth.
"Hey, Hoods, what's up?" (Y/n) was sat at the table, eating a bagel and staring at their phone.
I nearly choked on my water. How had I not noticed them sooner?
"Dude, relax, it's just me," they laughed.
"You scared the living shit out of me," I managed to cough out. I set the now empty glass down on the counter and made my way to table. "Why are you up so early?" I asked.
"I had some really weird dreams and couldn't sleep. You?" they said without looking up from their phone.
"Same." I sat beside them. "Wanna talk about it?"
"Nope. You?"
"Nope."
We sat in silence for a few minutes before Toby and Masky walked in. Toby immediately made his way to the freezer and pulled out a box of waffles.
"So, the rumors are true," (Y/n) said. "You really do like waffles."
"Kin-kind of," said Toby. "I don't love th-them as much as the fan-fangirls think, but I can't den-deny how tasty they are." He popped two waffles in the toaster and waited.
Masky silently grabbed a cup of coffee and sat at the table. He's never really been a morning person and is definitely not one to have a full conversation the moment he wakes up. I haven't told him about how (Y/n) killed Regina and her family last night. It's been bothering me since we got home, but I haven't had the chance to even tell Slender yet.
'Hoodie, please come to my office,' Slender's voice echoed. Speak of the devil.
I excused myself from the table and made my way to his office. I walked in and sat in front of the desk.
'So, how were things last night? You and (Y/n) returned a lot sooner than expected.'
"It was...different. They definitely showed how capable they are." I told him about everything that happened the night before. After I finished, he sat in silence for a few moments.
'How has this affected you, Hoodie? Something tells me this experience has greatly impacted you.'
I told him about my nightmare. I started to get choked up when I told him about how their appearance changed, but managed to push through until the end.
'I see,' was all he said. 'Thank you for your time, Hoodie. You are dismissed.'
I left the room and went to my own. I hoped Slender could figure out the meaning behind my dream. I hoped even more that I'd never have a dream like that again.
~(Y/n)'s P.O.V.~
Soon after breakfast, Toby and I decided to go outside and spar. I swung my bat at Toby's knees, but he managed to jump over it and brought the back of his hatchet down on my non-dominant shoulder. I felt a sickening pop, but I ignored it for the time being. I took the bat in my dominant hand and swung into his hip. The impact sent him rolling across the grass. He hopped back up and glared into my eyes before launching a hatchet at my gut. The butt end jabbed right into my stomach and knocked me down. I fought to catch my breath before whipping my bat back at him. The handle clocked him right in the nose, dropping him back to the ground.
"Okay, timeout. Are you okay? I heard yo-your shoulder p-pop when I hit it," Toby asked, voice full of concern.
"Yeah, it's fine, I just can't move my arm without searing pain at the moment," I joked.
"I'm taking you to the infirmary," he deadpanned. He was at my side instantly and picked me up bridal style.
"Dude, it's just my arm, I can walk." I struggled to get out of his grasp, but he just held tighter.
"Nope. I went to-too far, and now you're ser-seriously hurt. I'm carrying you."
"Oh yeah, what about you? I fucked up your nose and now it's bleeding everywhere. Shouldn't I be taking care of you and carrying you?"
Before he could answer, Masky flew out of the house and snatched me from Toby's arms. "What did you do!?" he yelled at Toby. "Are you okay?" he asked before waiting for an answer.
I squirmed out of his grasp. "I'm fine. It's not Toby's fault. We just got a little carried away and I hurt my arm," I said. I pushed past him and headed to the infirmary with them trailing behind me. Once E.J. and Smiley saw Toby and I, they directed us to a few beds.
Masky followed me to my bed. "I'm sorry for being a bit of an ass," he apologized. "I was just worried about you."
"It's okay, but I'm not the one you should be apologizing to," I whispered. He stared confused before I pointed at Toby, who was in the middle of getting his nose snapped back into place.
"Toby, I'm sorry for yelling at you. You didn't deserve that," he said.
Toby stared in confusion. He looked as though not a single person had ever apologized to him before. "Uh, it's okay, bud."
E.J. walked up to me and felt my shoulder. He tried to move it, but it wouldn't raise above shoulder height. "This is gonna hurt," he mumbled before snapping my shoulder back into its socket.
I screamed. Pain flashed through my entire body before slowly subsiding.
"Don't move it too much for a little bit. You dislocated it, but it should stay in place once you give it enough time to heal."
"Thank you," I whispered. Thankfully, as long as I was at the mansion, I would be able to heal much faster than a normal person would. It's another little magical thing about the place.
Once Toby and I were all fixed up, we along with Masky went back upstairs to the kitchen. Masky made Toby and I lunch as an apology. He made us mac and cheese with cut up hotdogs mixed in.
"Masky, your apology is one hundred percent accepted," I groaned. This was the best mac and cheese I had ever had in my life.
"I completely agree," said Toby, devouring his food way faster than he should have. Before I knew it, his bowl was empty and he was in a food coma, face down on the table.
"He has got to stop doing that," Masky chuckled.
I giggled and scooped Toby up bridal style, putting more of his weight in my dominant arm. "I guess it's time for me to return the favor and carry him," I laughed. In the time I had to get to know him, Toby and I had become as close as siblings. Sure, he was a year older than me, but he became the little brother that I never had.
Masky tried to convince me to let him carry Toby, but I was being more than a bit stubborn and refused. He sighed and lead me to Toby's room where I tucked him into bed. I sneaked out of the room and met Masky in the hallway.
"Thanks, bud. Now let's go finish lunch." I wrapped my arm around his and drug him back to the dining room. I still had half a bowl left and I was not about to waste it.
