"Ugggghhhh. My head," I grumbled as I sat up. The area behind my eyes throbbed due to lack of sleep. I grabbed my phone and checked the time. 6:30. I rolled out of bed and went to the bathroom. After I was finished with my business, I washed my hands and left the room. Almost as soon as I closed the door behind me, my mom was there, ranting about me sleeping in so late and accusing me of being on my laptop all night.

"Why were you up all night!?" She yelled at me.

Should I tell her about Jeff? Nope. "I was on my laptop. I couldn't sleep."

"AGAIN?! That's it! You're grounded from all of your electronic devices for a month!"

I dramatically fell to my knees. "NNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" I yelled as I held my fists in the air.

As my mom walked away I sang, "Hello darkness, my old friend."

"You're being over dramatic," she said and disappeared into her room. She did work today so she probably went to bed. She has a weird work schedule.

I got up and walked to the kitchen. I'll deal with my punishment later, right now I'm starving. I walked to the fridge and shivered as I felt a cool breeze come from the open window. I opened the door and saw a giant cheesecake sitting there. "Oh my god, yes," I whispered as I pulled it out of the fridge.

I heard two small gasps come from outside. I whipped my head towards the window, but there was nothing there. Huh. That's odd. Whatever.

I opened the cheesecake container and took two huge pieces. I heard rustling just outside the window. I glared out, trying to find the source of the noise. I saw a tuft of brown hair and the top of a yellow hoodie. I placed my cheesecake onto separate plates and carried them to the window, grabbing two forks on the way.

Ducking under the window sill were Masky and Hoodie. That explains the weird noises. They faced away from the window, whispering things I couldnt quite hear.

Trying to hold back my laughter, I bent down closer and said, "You know, if you want cheesecake, all you have to do is ask."

They both jumped three feet in the air and turned around.

I was laughing so hard that I fell to the floor and curled up into a ball. I was laughing so hard that I started to cry. I bet it would have been funnier if I could have seen their faces. I remembered a quote I had read somewhere. 'The saddest people laugh the hardest'. I guess that's true.

They were staring at me, still recovering from the shock. Then, Masky started to chuckle. Soon, we were all in hysterics. After a few minutes it turned into awkward silence.

I couldn't stand the awkwardness anymore so I spoke up. "Sooo......do you guys want to come in and have some cheesecake? My moms asleep."

"Why would you want us to come inside? We could be serial killers for all you know," Masky said.

"First off, I know that you're serial killers and I know who you are, Masky and Hoodie," I started. They seemed shocked when I said their names. "Second, I don't want stalkers. I want friends," I finished. I set the cheesecake on the counter and walked to the front door. I walked outside and held out my hand to the proxies. I smiled warmly and said "My names (y/n). It's a pleasure to meet you."

To my surprise, Masky took off his mask, smiled, and shook my hand. "It's nice to officially meet," he said as he let go of my hand. Hoodie took off his mask as well and muttered a small "Hello."

"Let's go inside," I said as I walked to the door. They followed, muttering to each other. I wondered what they were talking about.
