Ollie looked up from her laptop. Just one last thirty-page paper to go.

It was warm, and the outdoors called her name and the little trail behind her cabin begged to be hiked on.

"Jane!"

Ollie stood and walked to her window, knowing who was calling her name. Katy stood in the front yard. "Hey, Jane! Wanna go to the pool?" She was already in her swimsuit.

Ollie paused. Katy was great, friendly, pretty, everything you could ask for, but she was no Remy. With a sigh, she shook her head.

"Sorry Kat, but I have another paper due this week and I really need to work on it. Maybe we can go next weekend."

Katy's face fell but she gave Ollie a thumbs up. "That's alright! You go and get that Ph. D and I'll be here waiting!"

Ollie watched her run off before sitting back down at her desk.

Remy.

She missed all of her friends, but Remy had been stuck in her head for the past five years, emerging at the randomest of times. Her laugh. Her freckles. Her ever changing hair color. Every little detail had stuck with Ollie, and she was glad.

Cause she didn't want to let them go.
