Felix's POV

"I am really tired. Aren't we supposed ro rest after the exam? Why are we here?" Jeongin asked and yawned

"Oh? Where is Seungmin going?" Jisung asked while looking at the door

It was Seungmin. He is walking pass by the room like this is not really where he is going to. After him, Ari followed. What is happening?

"Didn't Areum and Hyunjin went that way?" Chan asked

"They did?" Changbin

I just ignored them and continued reading the textbook for today. No matter how many times I tried to focus on the book, my mind keep telling me that Areum is with Hyunjin. What was that supposed to do with me? It's not like I have to be so affected.

"Okay, everyone! Attention here!" Mr. Ty said as he entered and sat on the desk while looking around the classroom "May I ask where Kim Seungmin is?"

"He went-" Jeongin

"Something urgent came up. He will try to go here as soon as possible"

"Okay, so... This is not really important but I wanted to talk to you guys about the music club competition. Before that, let me announce the five people who have highest score" Mr. Ty said and looked at the papers he is holding "Kim Seungmin is first, Park Haeun is second..." then he mentioned three other classmates "Felix this is the first time you are not part of the top five highest. What happened to you?"

"Just too lazy to review since I am always tired"

"I see. Anyway, let's talk about the music club competition-" Mr. Ty

Seungmin entered and bowed "I am sorry I am late"

"It's fine. Felix excused you already. You are just on time. By the way, you are the highest again" Mr. Ty smiled

Seungmin went to his seat and listened.

"You guys probably know about the upcoming night ball and competition that music club joined. For the upcoming night ball, who will start the performance? And who will join the competition?" Mr. Ty

"Areum will be performing for the night ball. She knows a lot, I guess it will be perfect for her" Haeun said

"We never agreed nor talked about who will perform" Seungmin

"Stop saying wrong information. Why don't you perform? You look so jealous of her"

Haeun chuckled "Areum must be having the time of her life. There are people who will protect her"

"It's what you do before" Chan said

Haeun rolled her eyes and sat.

Right. Haeun used to protect Areum.

Lunch time finally came. Everyone went to the cafeteria and ate. I sat with my friends and started eating what Changbin ordered for us. He said it was the best but it doesn't suit my taste.

"Again, Hyunjin and Areum together. I am so jealous. Areum doesn't always have the appetite to eat with me" Jisung said and sighed

"You are right" Jeongin laughed that made Jisung hit him

Areum and Hyunjin are both writing something on the paper. They were talking and laughing like they have their own world.

I sighed and left the cafeteria. I am not affected at all. It was just new to me, to see her hanging out with Hyunjin a few days straight which is supposed to be me. I looked at my phone and went upstairs to our classroom.

"Getting emotional? Let me guess your thoughts... After all these years, we rarely hangout together" Areum laughed and sat on the swing as she started playing with it "Why you called me here? Is that important?"

"Yeah, I just wanted to tell you something"

"You should've told me over the phone. Why are we meeting all of a sudden?" Areum pouted and then laughed like she was joking

"I like you, Areum"

Her laugh faded away as she looked at me with her expression that she can't believe what she just heard. Her eyebrow raised and started laughing.

"Are you drunk? Stop saying things you will regret" Areum continued laughing

"I really like you ever since we were young"

She nodded and smiled "Thank you for liking me. I know you saw something in me that made you like me. I am thankful to you. Felix, I don't want to hurt you but I think staying friends will be the best option for us"

"Do you like someone?"

"I do- I mean... I am not sure but I think I am getting attached to someone" she pouted

I got rejected in a nice way. Should I be thankful?

"Felix! Are you busy?" Areum asked as she entered our classroom carrying a paper bag

"Not really. Why?"

"I bought this for you" she said and handed it to me

"What is this?"

"Actually, Seungmin bought that for me. I ate the half, but I decided to give you the half. I just feel like that night made us feel awkward. I wanted to tell you that I am thankful and glad to have you as my friend. I hope we can be as close as before" Areum

I raised my eyebrow.

"Are you mad?" Areum

I smiled and shook my head "I was kidding. Of course, we are still friends like before. You can't stop me from liking you. If ever he hurt you, I will steal you and won't let you go"

"Crazy" she chuckled

Right. I will wait until I can.
