Chapter #24: Memory of Them

Seth's POV

I woke up still in Y/N's arms. The rest of the group was still asleep.
"Hey Y/N, you awake?" I ask.
"Well now I am." She whispered in a raspy voice.
"Do you know what time it is?" I ask.
She lifts up her phone on the ground.
"It's 5:36 AM." She replied.
"Gotchu, thank you."
I layed my head back down on her chest and breathed softly into her neck.

As I was about to fall back to sleep, I hear Y/N sniffle.

"You okay?" I ask softly.
"Y-yea, just stuff going on." She replied trying not to ball her eyes out.
"You wanna talk about it...?" I ask quietly.
We both got up from the couch and we sat up.
Y/N sat Chris crossed apple sauce while I just sat bouncing my leg up and down slowly. I was worried for her.
"I just miss them..."
"Miss who?"
"Alan, Johnathan, and Jacob. Plus the old Andrew when he wasn't a killer. They were the most kindest people I've ever met. They were there for me at my lowest point of my life. Now they're gone... forever. I just want to see them okay Seth..."
She quickly jumps into my arms and balls her eyes out quietly into my shoulder.
"I just want to them again, one last time. I wanna be with them one last time Seth." Y/N balls.
I wrap my arms around her waist slowly as I rest my chin on her shoulder.
"I never got to say goodbye to them. They hate me for good." She states.
"They definitely don't hate you Y/N. You did so much for them. They miss you." I replied.
"Maybe they do, I just can't get over them."

I lay myself down still holdering her. I just didn't want to let her go. My head finally hits the edge of the couch.

"What was the best memory you've ever had with them?" I whisper into her ear.

"We decided to skateboard down in Westfield. Some middle school kids were riding their bikes and found us and they decided to join us. We got Wawa for everyone and stopped by at 711 too. Those slushies were the best. Alan and Jacob wouldn't stop arguing on what was the best flavor, Raspberry or Cherry. I personally like lemon."
"Maybe we have a night of our own and have those moments again." I state.
"That would actually be nice." She replied.

We had a small conversation about old memories from back in the day. After that we just soon fell into a deep slumber. My arms around her waist and her warm arms around my neck. I need her as much as she needs me.

-Time Skip 6:00 AM-

"WAKE UP LOVEBIRDS!!" Colby exclaims.
"God dang, is it finally time to leave?" Y/N asks.
"YES IT IS!! You guys are lucky I'm not recording!" Reggie added.

Y/N both got up and headed to go grab our stuff from the table where the rest of the group were.

"You two are finally awake, that's surprising!" Kat joked.
"Not my fault I was on my phone all last night." I stated. Plus, that was lie. I couldn't help remember what happened at Father Mackenzie's grave. That was fucking terrifying.

We all finally grabbed out stuff and said bye to the tourists who we're upstairs. We hopped into the van and we sat in the same spots as last time. Y/N was in the window seat. She leaned her head on the window and she stared into the distance of the world. I couldn't help but notice her eyes reflecting with the soft sun rise.

"You seem look you have a lot on your mind." I joked.
"Sadly, you are right." She replied.
"Maybe we can do that plan tonight. Or maybe when we arrive to the apartment building, we stop by 711 her slushies and some snacks?" I suggested.
"That would be lovely Mr. Borden." Y/N replied.
I smiled at the nickname. I loved her so much.

Y/N's POV

I was on phone playing Subway Surfers and we finally made it back safely to the apartments. I nudged Seth awake who was fast asleep on my shoulder.
We all hopped out and felt the cold breeze hit me. It felt like paradise.
"You seem to be loving that." Reggie stated walking up to me.
"Yep, I am." I replied.
"Hey um- we need to talk, something important back at my apartment."
I look at him with a confused look. More like a conflicted look to be exact.

I look behind me and see Seth and everyone heading in.
"Fine, only for a short amount of time." I state looking back at Reggie.
"Why's that?" He asks.
"Well-" I add before he cuts me off.
"Just tell me you are dating Seth already. I'm not stupid." He exclaims.
"What- I- no, where did you get that idea from!"
"You we're literally asleep on Seth when we got you both up to leave the church." Reggie crowed.
"Fine, I am dating Seth. If you tell anyone that I told this, you're done, you hear me?" I insisted.
He nods.
"Alright, next thing that I wanna talk about. I've kept this a secret for a long time but- one of your best friends from college died yesterday. I received the news from mom." He states looking up then down.
I pause for moment to process that.
"Which one?"
He pauses.
"The one you would always post on your snap. I forgot her name but she died from a car crash do to a drunk driver. Her name is something like-" I quickly cut him off.
"Kaitlyn Moore!? HOW COME MOM DIDN'T TELL ME!?" I exclaim. Even though we are having this conversation in the parking lot, 8 frankly don't give two shits.
He pauses.
"I rather don't know, you need to take a break Y/N, you've losing people here and there." He gushed.
"Don't tell me what to do Reggie, I just can't handle this. I just can't handle this much." I state before walking away.
"Y/N!!" He screams my name from behind me.
"JUST SHUT UP!!"

I run up the stairwell to my apartment floor. I just want to run away from all this. Alan's cold, breathless body, Andrew murdering almost the entire friend group. NOW KAITLYN IS DEAD!! I HADN'T TALKED TO HER IN YEARS AND SHE'S DEAD!!
WHAT DID I DO TO DESERVE THIS TRAGIC ENDING!?

Ring

I grab my phone from my pocket, it was Seth calling me. I immediately hung up and texted him saying that we can maybe move plans.
I turn off my phone and walk into my apartment. I close the from behind me and throw my stuff on the floor and fall to the floor and break. Why is that everyone who I have the closest pass away!? I really wanna know! Why does it have to be like!?

Ring

It was from Seth again. This time though, I answer him.
"Hey so um- you good?" He asks.
"Y-yea, just um- stuff." I cover it up with a nervous laugh.
"Do you need time or do you want to come over and talk about it?" He asks.
"I'll come over, let me just do some stuff. I'd be there in a couple of minutes." I state huffing back the tears.
"Take as much time as you need love."
"I love you, bye."
"I love you too."

I hung and go straight to my cabinet. I grab a bottle of Tylenol. I plopped it open and I took two pills. I fill a cup with water and I swallowed them both. I look up straight into the mirror. Mascara running down my face and eyes were bloodshot.

-Time Skip-

I knock on Seth's door and he opens and he sees me.
"Oh my god Y/N, are you okay?!" He pulls me in.
"I just found out one of my best friends from college passed away yesterday." I uttered.
"I'm so sorry... do you wanna maybe wanna watch some movies together to get your mind out of the gutter?" He asks handing me a small smile on his.
"M-maybe, I just hate it how I'm losing everyone that I once loved for decades." I cried.
He held me tight in his arms.

I wish I can just snap out of it and finally have things back to normal.
