Confessions

All throughout the way going home, Logan held Suryeon tightly in the car. His arm wrapped around her and his hand holding hers that are still trembling. Suryeon has never felt this safe in her entire life. It's only now that someone came to her rescue and protected her. She really feels safe in his arms like no one can harm her whenever Logan is by her side. It is still not clear what she's feeling for him but all she knows is that she is touched and thankful for all the care he is showing her.

As soon as they arrived, Logan brought her to her room and made her rest. He didn't leave her side until she's finally asleep. After an hour, halmeoni and the others also arrived at the house. Mrs. Lee opted to close the restaurant early after what happened. They are all gathered in the living room to talk except Suryeon who is still sleeping.

"Halmeoni, what will we do? People might no longer eat at the restaurant because of what happened" Yoonhee asked worriedly.

"We just have to prove they're lying because I know they are" halmeoni replied.

"How we'll we do that?" Junki wondered.

"We'll find a way" Logan is determined to figure out this mess.

"By the way Logan, how's Suryeon?"

"I think she's feeling a bit better halmeoni. She's sleeping right now. I told her to rest."

"That's good. She must be really shocked."

"It's the first time I saw unnie like that. She was so scared" Yoonhee said.

"It's like she was reminded of something in the past" Yoonchul added.

"Yes, she surely was" halmeoni doesn't want to share Suryeon's past to the group because ever since she was very sensitive about it. But because of what happened, she thinks it's best to tell them so they can understand and protect Suryeon.

"Suryeon's past... it's so sad and troubling" halmeoni started. "She has been very sensitive about this topic that it took a while before she shared it with me. I know I'm not in the position to tell you the story, but I think there's a need already so all of us can understand and protect her. My instinct is saying that what happened earlier has something to do with the people that made her life miserable."

"Tell us halmeoni. I'm willing to protect her at all cost" Logan said with determination.

"Me too. I'll protect unnie" Yoonhee also said.

"Include us!" Yoonchul, Junki and Sec Hong said in chorus.

Nina is just silent on her chair.

"Okay but I will not tell all as respect to Suryeon. How will I start? Hmm... Suryeon was accused of poisoning by her fiancé's family."

"Omo! Unnie has fiancé!" Yoonhee was surprised.

Logan's heart sank as he heard this.

"Yes, she had. It was an arranged marriage to the son of a wealthy family whom Suryeon's father owed a large amount of money. Her father couldn't pay his debt and in return they just asked for Suryeon to marry their son. Of course, Suryeon's parents do not want to force their daughter, but she accepted it so that they'll be free from debt without knowing how cruel that family is" Mrs. Lee explained.

"So, he didn't love her?" Logan asked.

"At first, he was kind to her like a loving fiancé. But you know as time goes by, his true nature started to manifest. Suryeon said he has anger issues and aggressive behavior that he frequently hits her when he's not in the mood."

"Poor unnie" Yoonhee cried.

Logan clenched his fist in anger upon knowing how cruel this person is to Suryeon.
