In the two days that followed the return of the young blonde it had been made clear, she would need help readjusting back into her old life, the one she had unwillingly left behind two years ago. She'd been given a second chance at life in Beacon Hills, and much to everyone's surprise, she just couldn't leave again. Some things, some people, she just couldn't leave behind again. No matter the risk that it posed to her life. Everyone had offered their assistance in helping the blonde find her footing back in the town while she lived under the roof of Melissa McCall, going back home, living in her old house that her brother still resided in was just one of the things she wasn't prepared to do yet. They hadn't even told Cole that she was alive yet, they didn't want to rush into it, overwhelm him with such a bizarre idea that his little sister had been alive the entire time. That he had spent every week for the past two years placing flowers on her grave, sitting at it for hours on end, arranging memorials in her memory, all for nothing, because she had only been mere miles from him and the rest of them the entire time.
It wasn't something that could just be sprung on him, or Nellie herself. She needed time to process seeing her brother again after so long, she had things to figure out, like whether he knew of her supernatural kind, whether he too was like her, he too at risk of being taken by Deucalion and the Alpha's if they were alerted of his talents. In the two years she had been held captive by them she still wasn't sure how they knew about her, she hadn't even told her own mother, it was a secret she'd kept close to her heart since she found out about it at the ripe age of nine.
Until she knew how to approach her brother, she had to focus on herself, as selfish as she believed it sounded, once her family knew, more people would begin to know, more questions would be asked. Those were all things she needed to adjust to before Noah informed her that he had managed to enroll her into school, a task he knew he was going to struggle with, a task that would require reaching out to her mother who hadn't been seen since she'd left. That was just one of the efforts that were being made to help the girl achieve normality, and arguably, one of the hardest tasks. Even Lydia had offered her services to help the girl, an offer that had shocked them all. Of course, the only thing the redhead saw herself able to help with was supplying the blonde with a suitable wardrobe for when she returned to school, if there was anyone who knew the taste of Nellie it was Lydia, their tastes were similar, just another thing that fueled their long-running rivalry, the two never would have admitted it before, pointing out every little difference between them, but when it came down to the nitty-gritty they weren't so different at all. While everyone saw Lydia shopping for Nellie as an excuse to have another barbie doll, styling her as she did with Allison when she moved to town, the redhead knew it in herself that it was her own version of a white flag, hoping that with her gesture Nellie would be able to forgive her for all of the things she had done in their past. All of the things said in spite throughout their rivalry, how she had been the end of the girl's relationship with Jackson, everything.
