Bleary-eyed, Noelle Priestley appeared from her bedroom, entering the brightly lit hallway, her boyfriend rushing past her with two motorcycle helmets in hand, as she often found him doing in the middle of the night, more often than not. But that was what came with being an Alpha, he had responsibilities, ones that sometimes couldn't wait until the morning, some that often came knocking on his door in the shape of a fifteen-year-old boy in a lacrosse jersey asking for help. As he caught a glimpse of the blonde in the corner of his eye he quickly stopped in the hallway for a split-second explanation. Assassins, he told her.

More? She questioned, to which he gave a quick nod before resuming to rush downstairs where a panicked Liam awaited him. Fuck, the blonde mumbled under her breath before she began a rush of her own, quickly spinning back into her bedroom where she threw on the first articles of clothing she found on her bedroom floor. She quickly rushed downstairs where Scott provided a more in-depth explanation to Liam, Kira had found Brett, there were more assassins, ones who might just be worse than the ones who tried to set fire to them. Noelle gave Liam a quick pat on the shoulder before she followed Scott to the door, the car keys in hand ready to tailgate the two of them, only Liam didn't join them at the door. He had hesitated, standing still with his heart in his pants, how could anyone be worse than the people who tried to set them on fire?

He looked down at the helmet in his hand, placing it on the table, convincing the couple to hold fire for a moment, stepping back into the house to talk to the distressed teenager about it. Nellie placed a reassuring hand on the boy's shoulder, suggesting she take him home instead, the two of them could talk about it on the ride over, she was sure that she could make light of it, maybe a joke or two, the approach that Stiles usually took in these kinds of situations.

Liam didn't bother to acknowledge her offer, cutting straight to the chase of what was troubling him. He wasn't like them, he told the couple. Not yet, Scott admitted with a shrug, hopeful that it would be something that came with time. The boy shook his head, that wasn't what he meant, it wasn't that he wasn't strong or that he would never learn control, it was everything else. Both of them, and even their friends, try to protect everyone, he didn't understand it, how they all did it. "Have you been doing this the whole time?" He asked. "I mean, how are you all still alive?"

"Not all of us are," Scott admitted guiltily, still feeling the same regret he had felt for months that two of them had had to die to get to where they were now. He handed out the helmet to the boy again. "Let me at least take you home." He asked of the beta who accepted the offer with a sigh.

As the two werewolves headed towards the back door, Noelle stopped them again, calling Liam back for a split second. "It's okay to be a little scared sometimes." She reassured him. "Cole was, we all were." She told him, and somehow, that single sentence made him feel better. Even if he'd failed to meet Cole, the boy still managed to be a role model to him, the kind of person he aimed to be, both in terms of lacrosse and supernaturally.
