Chapter 10

???'s POV: "I need you to find out how or why Jake is still alive" the voice commanded.

Jake's POV: Even though Jake had only been back for a bit he still noticed how everywhere he went it felt like he was being followed, it always left an unsettling feeling. He even felt like he was being watched when he was in Jay's house. Jake wanted to tell Jay about it but he wasn't sure how to. Jake felt the most unsettled though when he was at work, for some reason he always felt someone's eyes on him. But aside from that Jake's headaches had been getting worse and worse and happening more frequent. None of the visions he saw revealed any information and Jake always pushed them to the back of his head after. Until one specific day Jake was on his work break and suddenly it happened again. But this time he saw a hand with white polish on it's fingernails and he saw a skirt in his preferal vision as well. So this person had been a girl all along? Jake asked himself. If only he could've remembered what happened when he died.

Jake continued on with his life and everything was fine until one day it wasn't. Jake had just gotten out of the shower when suddenly he noticed his pinkie toe on his right foot was faded. He could still see the faint outline of it but for the most part it looked like nothing was there. Jake panicked. 

"Where did my toe go" Jake said to himself 

Jake reached down to the touch the empty space just for his finger to go right through it.

That's how Jake ended up in the kitchen with a confused Jay wondering why Jake was mumbling on and on about how his toe was missing. 

"Wait so let me get this straight, you got out of the shower and suddenly your toe was missing?" Jay asked

 Jake nodded. 

"I better not see a toe lying on my bathroom floor when I go in there"

"No, it's not like that" Jake whined

 "It's like... clear, a clear toe" Jake said

 "I'm sorry Jake but people don't have clear toes" Jay said

 "Look!" Jake exclaimed as he pulled his sock off and shoved his foot in Jay's face

 "Holy shit-" Jay mumbled

 "Jay I'm scared what's happening to me?" Jake asked

 "D-do you think I'm dying again?"

 "No no don't say that, you're not going anywhere" Jay said

 "Ok but promise me you won't say anything, not even to Hyewun" Jake said

 Jay nodded.

Jake was left alone in the house as Jay had to go to work. And out of curiosity Jake couldn't help but wonder about his toe. So he opened the computer Jay had in his office and typed in 

"Why is my toe disappearing".

 Of course nothing useful popped up. So instead he looked up 

"Why do ghosts start fading in the living World".

 Again random articles started to pop up but then Jake came upon a sketchy website that looked like it would give his computer a virus with just one click. But hey at least the heading was more than something that read "Click here to get a free Amazon giftcard".

Apparently the article was written by a shaman. The more Jake read, the more it began to make sense. The article stated that ghosts usually couldn't travel back to the living world without a purpose. But once that purpose was fulfilled they were sent back. But why was Jake sent back? And what was his purpose? 

"Jay!!!" Jake called out as Jay walked through the door

 "Hey dude"

 "Look what I found" Jake said

 Jay walked over to the computer with a look of curiosity. Jay scoffed.

 "No way you actually believe what this crazy Shaman has to say"

 "Oh come on Jayyy you're always like this" Jake whined

 "You're so gullible" Jay laughed

 "This sounds ridiculous, there's no way you're gonna just magically disappear one day" Jay said

 "But somehow I managed to magically appear, like one day I'm dead the next day I show up on you're front door step?" Jake asked

 "Whatever I'm not making theories about how you appeared, I'm just glad you're here ok? Sorry if I sounded harsh about this" Jay said

"So would now be a good time to tell you about the visions I've been getting..?" Jake questioned nervously

 "I'm sorry v-visions?" Jay stuttered

 Jake nodded. 

"Well yeah I've been getting these visions and headaches recently" Jake said

 "What are they about?" Jay asked

 "That's the problem, they seem so... random" Jake said

 So Jake sat there and told Jay everything. 

"Wow, seriously Jake you're just one surprise after another, what's next? You're gonna tell me someone's stalking you" Jay joked

 Jake looked up in shock, jaw hanging open.

 "How'd you know?" Jake asked

 "Woah woah woah what? I swear I meant that as a joke, I wasn't being serious" Jay said

 "It's true, ever since I got a job at that cafe that Hyewun's friend recommended I've felt like I've been being followed around" Jake said

 "Which friend? Sunoo?" Jay asked

 "No no not that one, the small one with the big eyes" Jake said

 "Have you met who owns the cafe?" Jay asked

 "Yeah it turns out Heeseung owns that" Jake said

 "Heeseung as in the Lee Heeseung?' Jay asked

 Jake nodded.

 "That dude's like loaded, he owns multiple entertainment companies across Korea" Jay said

 "I bet the cafe you're working at is one of his side companies he started cause he was bored or something" Jay said

 "Yeah but you don't think Heeseung would want to stalk me do you?" Jake asked

 "I mean I'm surprised he even remembered me"

 "Heeseung wouldn't do such a thing would he?" Jay asked

Sunghoon's POV:

"Babe have you seen my wallet?" Sunghoon asked

 Eunsang looked up from her spot on the couch. 

"You probably left it on the table in the entry way again" Eunsang said

 "Thanks" Sunghoon replied 

 Sunghoon walked over to the table and started looking around the area. But his eyes landed on a piece of lightly burnt paper sitting behind the trash can that was kept next to the table. His eyebrows furrowed as he bent down to pick it up. It was only a tiny piece but on it read the words "From Jake". 

What was a tiny piece of Jake's letter doing here? Sunghoon thought.

Hyewun's POV:

"So I've been thinking" Sunoo said

 "About?" Hyewun asked

 "Well don't you find it strange how Jake could've just come back to life?" Sunoo asked

 "I mean yeah you don't just see ghosts turn into humans everyday" Hyewun said

 "Do you think it could've been because of the letters we delivered to Jay and Sunghoon?" 

HEYYY sorry for legit disappearing again but tbh I haven't had motivation to write. But I'm thinking of starting up this story again in hopes of finishing it!
