(A) and (B) (or the optional rest of group), go out for whatever reason (information gathering or just for leisure doesn't matter), and run into (C), a person that (A) doesn't want to see very much. So now they're stuck in an unintentional game of cat and mouse, while they're out trying to have do whatever.
