🍷🍷🍷 Being a hard worker for the Adventurers Guild you rarely had time to stop and rest. You were one of the highest ranking Guild members so everyone usually came to you with commissions and other random jobs to do. You never complained about them though, they paid good money so it was all worth it in the end.
You finished your delivery to the Knights of Favonius. Carrying the boxes inside the Grandmasters office. They were pretty heavy, but not heavy enough that you couldn't carry them alone.
"Ah, Y/N let me help you with that." Jean came from behind you with a warm smile. "I wasn't aware you'd be working so late. I would've had someone retrieve the package for you so you can go home."
"It's no problem Jean." You answered her. "This is my last one for the night. I think I've been running around all day." You stood back up and stretched your arms over your head.
Jean seemed to be confused by your response. She pushed the box aside, "Really? Y/N the sun is pretty much down by now. You didn't get a rest?" Jean of all people should be one of the last people talking about resting. "I can take it from here, you go home and take a well necessary rest."
She hoisted up the package after putting some of the contents on her desk and headed for the door. "Have a good night Y/N!" She told you and headed out the office. Jean didn't seem in a rush but she did seem to leave rather quickly. Quicker than usual, almost like she was trying to get somewhere. You didn't think about it too much longer but stepped outside of her office. As you left you did notice the door closing to the library as soon as you came out and a few voices coming from the room.
"Happy Valentines dear. I didn't think you'd be here so early. But thank you for coming to see me."
"It's no problem, I just wanted to get a break. I've been learning that I may need to take more of those."
"Aw you took a break for me? Jean love, you're too kind."
"Lisa..."
And that's when it hit you that it indeed was Valentine's Day. Diluc had gotten up so early to go into the Dawn's Winery that he was gone by the time you got up. So it didn't really sink in that it was a special day. It felt ordinary and the two of you went to work as normal.
Maybe it would be worth the time to go see him over at the Winery and surprise him? He might be staying over there late to finish up paperwork for shipments and whatever else he does while he's there. Sometimes he'd actually end up falling asleep and coming back either early morning, or late afternoon. He always felt terrible about it too. Hated leaving you all day and night with no communication beforehand.
Diluc was a hardworking man and was very diligent with his work. So he usually took time when working at the Winery. It was also very taxing work so you knew he was absent a lot of times and days. He did make it up to you though by rarely letting you go when he's home. With both of your jobs not really having a start or ending time, you were always out. Spending time together was hard to come by.
