Adrenaline was coursing through Xiao's veins. He doesn't sleep, or more so he chooses not to. Maybe if he did, he wouldn't be so drastically exhausted all the time.

Then again he doubts it would make a difference.

Sleep wouldn't allow him to do his job better. He's been doing it for years, with little to no issues. So why...

Why the hell was he so weak in front of this... Harbinger?

He was holding himself up by his polearm, hunched over breathing heavily. Xiao hadn't even done anything to end up in this state. His stamina is trained to be kept up and sustained, he fought against Gods before.

He's losing to a Harbinger.

How?

"What did you... what did you do to me?"

Scaramouche wasn't tall by any means. Neither was Xiao. But in this circumstance, he was towering over the Yaksha. And all he could do was laugh. "Your strength depletes when the right items are in use."

"Items?"

"Yes." He responded while snapping his fingers. After the sound, there was some type of crystal ball mechanism floating above his hand. It was glowing violently, appearing that at any moment it would just shatter into hundreds of pieces.

"This right here, has the power to practically completely seal adepti powers." He used a nail to tap on it gently, the clink resonating like a shrill laugh in Xiao's ears. "As long as you're in my vicinity, you're powerless."

Xiao attempted to steady himself onto his feet. "So if I were to just run... I'd be out of your vicinity."

"You aren't wrong. But..." He took a step forward and put his hand on top of Xiao's head. That small pressure almost caused his legs to buckle. Then Scaramouche pushed him backwards, "if you can't even stand. How the hell are you supposed to run?"

Xiao landed on the ground with a thud. His weapon clattered onto the floor and he was filled with nothing except rage. He was losing to a sphere. A mere decoration was draining him of his ability to stand, to even fight?

This was unheard of. And why was he never warned that a device such as this exists?

"So... what's your aim here?" Xiao asked, still laying flat on the ground.

Soon enough, the large hat blocked the moonlight and then soon came the man in his sight. Hovering over him like he was superior. "My aim? Well, taking you out is just one of my few goals. You know, I don't even care for Liyue all that much, shame I couldn't explore first."
