Why I Say Four

Day 21: (MCD)

Kawaii~Chan's PoV:

"Zane-Kun?" I call out into Aphmau's empty house. I scowl before going downstairs and checking the guest room.

Empty

"Where are you, Zane?" I growl dropping Kawaii~Chan's over-the-top persona.

I pinch the bridge of my nose before going back upstairs and walking back to the town. I close my eyes, trying to think about why Zane is avoiding me.

He was upset that he couldn't find any clues on how to get home. We talked a bit before we were interrupted by my family. Then Nekoette and Dimitri talked to him and they told him the situation between Dante and Nichole. He got angry so I pulled him into another room and made him promise not to do anything. Then he called me, Four. Why did he call me Four?

"Hey, Kawaii~Chan," Donna says.

I quickly snap out of my trance and put on Kawaii~Chan's bubbly personality. I turn around to see Donna sitting next to her husband and oldest son in the center of Phoenix Drop.

"Hi Donna-Chan," I smile cheerfully before glancing at Logan. "Hi Logan-Kun, Kawaii~Chan thought you were preparing a shipment to Meteli."

Logan grins at me before shrugging, "What? Am I not allowed to take a break?"

I giggle and give him a playful smile.

"Hey... Kawaii~Chan, where's Zane," Yip asks, glancing around nervously "Erm... why isn't he with you?"

I grimace and lower my ears. "Zane-Kun is still avoiding Kawaii~Chan."

"What!" Logan shouts, jumping off of the bench. "He could be doing anything right now. He's probably plotting our demise as we speak."

"Relax, Logan-Kun. Zane-Kun isn't' some evil mastermind," I frown before adding. "Well, this Zane-Kun isn't at least."

"I don't know, Kawaii~Chan," Donna mutters. "Even if Zane is telling the truth, and that's a big if, it's still Zane Ro'meave. Don't you remember what he did fifteen years ago?"

I miraculously manage to refrain from rolling my eyes. "Of course, Kawaii~Chan remembers what our Zane-Kun did, but this one is different. Besides Lucinda~Chan gave him a truth potion and he said he wasn't going to hurt anyone here."

"Erm... listen, Kawaii~Chan," Yip hesitates. "I've seen Zane before and believe me when I say that he is always scheming. He always has some bigger plan on the horizon and he probably had some ways to get around a truth potion."

"But Kawaii~Chan saw Zane-Kun take the truth potion with her own eyes," I smile, trying to hide my growing irritation. "Zane-Kun isn't evil."

"Kawaii~Chan," Donna sighs before looking into my eyes sincerely. "I know you want to see everyone as good-natured and honest, but believe us Zane is many things, but good isn't one of them."

I'm not naive. Stop talking to me like I'm a little kid.

"Sounds like you guys are having a party," I look up and see Alexis walking towards us. "What are you guys talking about?"

"Hey Alexis," Yip smiles faintly. "We were just talking about Zane."

Alexis's eyes darken with fear, "Umm... why are you talking about him?"

"Kawaii~Chan can't find him," Logan fumed.

I lower my eyes as my hands ball up into fists.

"Oh, I saw him a little while ago on my patrol," Alexis says.
