Presley's POV

My gaze couldn't stop drifting off to my mate. Mateo hung around him like a vulture, waiting to translate anything that was said to Charlie and anything my mate would say. He conversed with my mom about the full moon ceremony, heavily including himself in the affair. It was almost as if he were made for this, to be my Luna.

It was painful to be away from Charlie during our hunting trip. I asked how he was constantly, and my mom kept reassuring me that Charlie was fine and that they were bonding. My dad and I had some alone time during the hunting trip, and we were able to finally talk about how he reacted when Charlie had first come home with me. He apologized to me, and he knew he would have to apologize to my mate when the time was right.

My dad made a point to tell me that Charlie reminded him so much of my mom. And I agreed with him. Charlie always kept his head held high, even with the stares he would get that were less than savory from some pack members. It wasn't quite a secret that I had come home with my mate. Most of my pack wouldn't see me until full moon ceremonies; others would just attend pack celebrations like Christmas and Thanksgiving unless I had prompted otherwise. Tonight's ceremony was one where everyone was to attend so I could introduce our new Luna to the pack.

Charlie wouldn't get the powers from my mom until we had our mating ceremony,

"Y'know if you keep staring at him, you might just pierce him with your eyes, nephew." A familiar voice said.

"Hey, uncle Raven." I turned to the short, long-haired omega. With age, his black hair had gotten several streaks of silver in them. His face had weathered from being outside for many hours a day. He had become the pack's first Omegan warrior. Just like my mom, he had trained long and hard to become a warrior alongside his mate, my other uncle, Romeo.

He wasn't biologically related to me in any way, but he was always there for me as a kid. Unfortunately, when I was around five and Adam was one, Raven had found out that he couldn't have kids. It was a memory I remembered vividly. He had come to our house, he cried the entire night on our couch, and my mom just held him and let him let it all out. He always had this glint in his eyes when he watched my siblings and me. As an adult, I realize it was because he wanted kids for himself but never got the chance.

But he didn't let it tear him down, he was given lemons, and he made lemonade with it. He started training to become the pack's first Omegan Warrior, and he had done just that, and to celebrate my uncle, Romeo had gotten him a cat named mittens, which he treated as if it were his child. Like my uncle Ravens hair, the cat was all black, with white paws, hence the name mittens.

Raven waved his hand in front of my face. "Earth to Presley, you alive in there?" He snapped his fingers.

"I am. I was just thinking about mittens." I chuckled.

"Well, mittens is doing good, still fucking knocking over shit on my dresser and running around at three in the morning like a fucking cheetah. We're thinking about getting him a little brother or sister soon." He chuckled at the thought of his feline. "He's getting kinda old, and I'm starting to worry because he's home alone all of the time because we're having to pick up extra patrols."

"I can imagine that little hateful bastard eating a kitten alive."

"Okay, you have a point, but I'll just not listen to that because I'm trying to manifest another pet." Raven chuckled. "Anyways, are you nervous about presenting your mate to the pack today?"

"I mean, I'm nervous because of the family name that is tied to him and how the pack will react to that. My dad kinda didn't help matters by always bringing it up during every summit." I crossed my arms over my chest.
