Chapter 22

"Yes, Attorney," she replied. "Detective Agon's on his way here also, Attorney."

She told me she'll be contacting you," lingon ko ulit sa aking secretary.

"That, Attorney," she rubbed her nape. Kumunot ang noo ko dahil doon. "She told me that she'll be late because she's going to see her... ex?" she added.

"Okay, thank you."

Actually, this one's the third book I'm reading. It's actually a good book. All of them, to be specific. All of them are on men's point of view but the way they were written hit different. Siguro ay dahil babae ang nagsulat? Liah's way of writing is kinda different, palaging sa huli ang point of view ng babae.

"Wasn't informed that you love to read love stories now."

I cleared my throat.

"They were three," he said. Seryoso kong kinuha ang papel sa kaniya. "One is Egor Salvador, a senator's son. The other two are his friends, Valtazar Fernandez and Richmond Perez, just normal citizens."

"Nasaan na sila?" kunot-noo kong tanong.

"I asked Ragged and Patron to look for them as quickly as possible," he smirked. "I can't call Brigs and Horiah for this case, ang alam ko'y assigned sila sa mission ngayon."

I was the one who smirked this time.

"Leandro's busy right now kaya wala kaming leader. We can't just use all our men lalo na't malapit na ang election.

Totoo?"

"Chismoso," umiling si Agon at tumayo na. "People nowadays are aggressive.

"They did that? Anong ginawa?"

I nodded as I looked at the envelope. "I also noticed that this election is kinda controversial," usal ko bago nanglumbaba.

"Hell, yeah," Agon shook his head. "Both parties are forcing each of ' em to agree with their words... too funny, you will see who's hypocrite and sincere," he chuckled.

"If I were them, one explanation is enough, as long as I'm doing it the right way," sagot ko. Pagod akong sumandal sa aking upuan. "People want to hear your thoughts and opinions just to know if you're on their side, but won't give you the right to own it once they knew you're not. People who despise you won't accept your words, anyway," tumawa na kaming dalawa matapos kong sabihin iyon.
