II: Getting To Know You

"Ahhh... shit, my head..." Selene woke up with a terrible hangover. Dagling nilibot ng kanyang mga mata ang kinaroroonan na kwarto. A sweet smile formed on her lips when she realized na nasa guestroom sya ng condo unit ni Capricorn.

"Chamomile tea for my love..." A sweet tone interrupts Selene's thoughts. Capricorn made her way to the bedroom carrying a cup of tea.

"Good morning, hon...My headache is killing me," Selene pouts.

"I know, babe. Inumin mo muna itong tea at maghahanda lang ako ng breakfast natin."

"You didn't let me sleep in your bedroom again. Hmp!" kunwari nagtatampo na wika ni Selene.

"And you know why," agad na sagot ni Capricorn habang pinipingot ang ilong ng matalik na kaibigan.

"I don't think na ganun ako kalikot."

"Oh dear, trust me. Ayaw mo ring katabi 'yang sarili mo if makikita mo lang kung gaano ka kalikot matulog, especially when you're drunk. My bed is up for invasion only for sober Selene," natatawa na pahayag ni Capricorn.

Makalipas ang labing-limang minuto, magkaharap na nag-aalmusal sa dining area ang matalik na magkaibigan.

"Hey, love..."

"Hmm?" Capricorn hummed.

"Did I harass you last night?"

Muntik ng mabulunan si Capricorn sa sinabi ng kaibigan. "W-why would you use such a harsh word? Anong ibig mong sabihin?"

"I mean, did I kiss you again?"

"So, what if you did? May bago ba dun? You've been kissing me since high school." 

"Did I do torrid this time?" pilyang tanong ni Selene.

"You tried, but you know I'm not going to let you." Capricorn laughs at her friend's antics.

"Ugh! What a bummer. I'll try harder next time. I promise." May kindat na sabi ni Selene. 

"I bet you will." Napa-iling na lamang si Capricorn sa kalokohan ng kanyang bestfriend. Madalas siyang hinahalikan nito kapag nalalasing kaya hindi na siya nagugulat pa tuwing ginagawa ito ng kaibigan sa kanya.

"By the way, have you seen Nathan?" biglang tanong ni Selene.

"Nath— who?" balik na tanong ni Capricorn. Enjoy na enjoy ito sa pagnguya ng paborito nitong toasted bacon.

"Nathaniel Solomon, the CEO of NGS Media. While I was in my drunken state, narinig ko ang pangalan niya. I later realized na favorite hangout place niya 'yung club na pinuntahan natin."

"I don't know, love. His name doesn't ring a bell. Dapat ba kilala ko siya? And isn't it amazing that you remember overhearing his name when you were drunk but not our kiss?"

Selene laughs. "I must have overheard it during my tipsy state. Anyway, how could you not know him? He's a famous figure. He did very well in the business world."

"Hmm...maybe I came across his name but failed to mentally take note of it."

"And I am hoping na hindi ka mentally preoccupied sa kaiisip sa lintik na Andrew na 'yun. You've been here in the Philippines for about what? 7 months now? I guess it's time to open the possibility of finding a new love interest, don't you think?"

"Haven't you heard the rumors? I've been called a whore sa dami kong hook-ups. My sex life is not dry," Cap retorted, with the intention of teasing her dear friend—which she successfully did.
