After school, Carlos, Ben and I were back on the tourney field.
"Okay, Carlos, we're gonna do some sprinting. You ready?" Ben asks him. Carlos nods and Ben gets his timer ready. A dog starts barking and I turn to see a dog running straight towards Carlos. I've never seen him run so fast.
"Ah! No!" Carlos screams
"No!" I shout
"What's wrong?" Ben asks
"Carlos is petrified of dogs!" I take off my heels and start running after him "Carlos!"
"Carlos!" Ben calls. He starts running after him, behind me. Carlos runs into a forest and climbs a tree.
"Carlos!" Ben and I shout
"Ben?! Y/N?!" Carlos calls "Help me! This thing is a killer!" Ben moves the dog away from Carlos and picks him up "He's going to chase me down and rip out my throat!" He shouts "This is a vicious! Rabid! Pack animal!"
"Hey, who told you that?" Ben asks
"My mother!"
"Cruella?"
"She's a dog expert. A dog yellerer"
"Does he bite?" I ask Ben. He shakes his head so I take the dog in my arms
"Y/N! Why are you holding him?! He's gonna attack you!" Carlos shouts
"Carlos, you've never actually met a dog, have you?" Ben asks
"Of course not"
"Dude, meet Carlos and Y/N. Carlos, Y/N, this is Dude. He's the campus mutt"
"He's so cute" I smile, scratching behind his ear
"He doesn't look like a vicious... rabid pack animal... Jeez" He climbs down from the tree and come towards Dude and I "You're a good boy, aren't you?" He smiles and strokes him. I pass Dude to him and he holds him "You're a good boy"
"I guess you guys have it pretty rough on the island..." Ben says
"Yeah.. let's just say we don't get a lot of belly rubs.." Carlos laughs sadly
"Or affection at all to be honest.." I sigh
"Good boy" Ben says. Carlos and I look at him confused "I mean, you're a good runner. You're... you're fast, you know"
"Thank you"
"And you, you're fast too, coach said you have fire and strength as well. Ever thought of cheerleading?"
"In your dreams" I scoff
"You'd be good! Plus, you'd get to cheer Carlos on" He smiles. Carlos looks at me and blushes. I laugh and shrug
"I'll think about it"
"Anyway, I'm gonna give you guys some space, yeah?" Ben smiles "You guys get to know each other and just, you know, come find me when you're done, okay?"
"Okay"
"See you later, Ben" I smile. He nods and walks off. We sit down on a log and I smile at Carlos and Dude
"Hi" Carlos smiles to him. Dude licks his face and I laugh "Thank you" After a while, we go back to the school and Carlos goes to the changing room to shower and get changed. He walks out with no shirt on again. I roll my eyes and laugh
"Put a shirt on!" I grab the shirt off his shoulder and throw it at him. He pulls it over his head and smiles at me. We head to the girls room and walk in
"Ew! Why's it so pink?!" I cringe
"Hello to you too" Mal laughs
"Hey" I sit down on Mals bed and Carlos sits on the floor at the end of the bed. Jay walks in with a blue shirt on that says 'Jay 8'
