I step back and smile awkwardly
"I-" I start but I pause "I'm sorry..." I sigh. I start walking away but he grabs my wrist and pulls me back
"Don't leave, Y/N" He sighs. I look into his gorgeous brown eyes and mine prick with tears
"Carlos...."
"Please.." He lets go of my wrist and takes my hand "You promised me..."
"How many times do I have to tell you... You can't trust a villain.." I slide my hand out of his grip and sniffle back any tears. I turn around and walk away. A pirate jumps at me and hits me with his sword. I look at my arm and groan. The sword had cut it... The pirate smirks and pushes my backwards. I try to grab onto something but it fails and I fall. I scream and see Carlos run over
"Y/N!" Evie shouts
"Y/N!" Carlos Shouts too. I break the surface of the water and the breath is knocked out of my body. Jay jumps in and grabs me, holding me tight. Evie throws down a ladder so Jay climbs up it, not letting me go. Evie grabs my hand and pulls me over the rail
"Thanks" I sigh. Carlos run over and checks me
"Are you okay?" He asks. I nod so he smiles and looks at Jay "Jay, go and start the car!"
"I'll meet you guys there!" Evie nods.
"Ben, come on! Go!" Mal shouts. Uma fights Mal, Harry fights Ben and the rest of us fight other pirates whilst Jay gets the limbo ready.
"Carlos! Smoke bomb!" Evie shouts. Carlos throws her one and she throws it in front of us. Carlos grabs my hand and pulls me over the bridge to the tunnel. We run through and come out the other end by the limbo.
"What's my name? What's my name? What's my name! Say it loud!!!" Uma sings
"You okay?" Lonnie asks
"Yeah, I'm good" Carlos smiles "Nice work out there, Lonnie! Come on, Dude. Hop in" Dude jumps in the car "Now you listen to me" I laugh a little and he looks up at me "Come on, guys. Get in" We all get in and Carlos gets in beside me.
"I'm really sorry.. that things didn't go the way you wanted them to..." Ben says to Mal, breaking the silence
"I mean... As long as you're safe that's..." She sighs
"I mean.. at least I got to see the isle. They're my people too... Uma helped me see that" I share a worried look with Carlos and look back at Mal
"Ben, Uma captured you!"
"She's an angry girl... with a bad plan" He says, not looking at her "That's not so different from you when you came to Auradon, Mal..." Mal looks away from him and sighs
"Awkwarddd..." Dude says
"Dude..." I whisper
"Dude, I know you can talk. But it doesn't always mean you should" Carlos tell him. I look at Carlos and he looks at me. I smile sadly and he returns it
You can't do this, Y/N....
Yes I can...
You'll just end up running away again

I shake my head and let out a sigh
"You okay?" He whispers
"Wha- Oh, yeah. I'm fine" I nod. I lay down and put my head on his lap. He lets out a sigh and starts to play with my hair. I close my eyes and smile
"Are you dating again?" Dude asks. I open my eyes and look up at Carlos. He looks down at me for an answer but I look at him for the same thing
"Not now, Dude" Evie whispers. I sit up, suddenly feeling a little awkward
"Here we go!" Jay says. He presses the button to form the bridge. As we go through the barrier, we all gasp a little, feeling the power go through us. We go over the bridge and I look out of the window. Jay drives back to Auradon and parks the car. We start walking towards the school and cut across a field
"I'll take these back to the gym" Lonnie smiles, referring to the swords
"Thanks" Jay returns the smile
"See you later"
"Bye, Lonnie" I sigh.
"Ben! Y/N! There you are! Cotillion is tonight!" Jane says, walking over "Come here, look" she smiles and shows us the pad "This is the stained glass window for Mal.. Isnt it beautiful? She's gonna love it!"
"Do you want to cancel?" Ben asks Mal. I gasp and frown
"Um... you know what? I can come back-" Jane smiles awkwardly "-but like really, really soon"
"That's probably a good idea" I nod
"No, no, no, no. Now's fine, um...." He looks at the Pad and then back at Mal "Do whatever you need to do" Evie pulls Mal away and starts walking off so I run up to them
"We need to talk" She whispers
"Yeah" Mal and I both say at the same time
"No!" Carlos interrupts. We all turn to look at him
"No?" I ask
"You guys are always going off in a huddle... whispering your girl-talk stuff or whatever. And Jay and I are tired of it" He sighs
"I'm not" Jay shrugs. Carlos stares at him and then looks back at us
"We're your family, too. We've been through a lot... together. I'm not stopping that now.. okay?" I sigh and then we all nod "Everyone, sit!" Carlos commands. He sits down on the grass and I laugh quietly "Come on" I sit down beside him and he smiles at me. The others sit down and we form a circle "I don't know how to start girl talk..." He looks at Jay
"What up?" Jay says. Evie and I chuckle a little bit
"Um..." Mal starts "Well... I'm a mess. I'm such a mess" She sighs "I mean... six months ago, I was, you know, stealing candy from babies... and now, everybody wants me to be the Lady of the Court and I have no idea how to keep up the act"
"Then don't" Carlos smiles
"See? This one dumb" Jay shrugs, standing up
"Maybe it wasn't" I speak up causing Jay to sit back down "I mean, we're always going to be the kids from the Isle. I tried to forget it... I really tried" I sigh "But it ate away. Those are our roots... we all did what we had to do.... to survive! But by doing that... it made us who we are today. We aren't ever going to be like the people here... but that's okay. It's okay" I laugh slightly
"And we can't fake it" Carlos adds
"No" I smile
"Yeah, I mean, especially without my spell book" Mal sighs
"Mal, if Ben doesn't love the real you.. then he's not the one" Carlos sighs. I look up at him to see him staring at me. I sigh and take his hand in mine. He smiles and squeezes it gently.
"I like that" I smile
"Give him a chance" Carlos tells her
"I'm gonna make some changes to your dress" Evie tells her too "And if you're up for it, only if you're up for it. It'll be waiting for you, okay?" Mal nods and Evie hugs her. She gets up and walks away
"Come on, buddy" Carlos says to Dude. He stands up and then helps me up
"Thanks" I sigh. We walk away with Evie and Carlos intertwines our fingers. I look at him and he smiles so I return it
