I walk to class the next day with Carlos and Jay. We met the girls there and sat in our usual seats. FG walks in and to the front of the class
"Children, excuse me. Um.." She smiles "As you know, this Sunday is Family Day here at Auradon Prep" I look at Carlos and point at my tongue, pretending to throw up. He laughs and I smile, turning back to the front "And because your parents can't be here due to... distance.. we've arranged for a special treat" She Smiles
"Oooo fun!" I joke. The group laugh and FG laughs awkwardly. She runs to the very front and turns on her computer
"I don't see anything, nor do I hear" Maleficent says as our parents come onto the screen
"Mother...." I whisper, suddenly feeling nervous
"Kids!" FG calls to us. We get up and walk over to her. I grab Carlos's hand and look at him
"I don't want to see her..." I whisper
"Just stay behind me" He smiles. I nod and he squeezes my hand
"Is it... is it... is it..." Maleficent says
"Press enter" Jafar says
"Can I please see a remote? Is this thing on?" Maleficent asks "God! It's Brocken! I hate electronic-"
"Oh!" EQ gasps "Evie! It's mommy! Look how beautiful! You know what they say! The poison apple doesn't fall far from the tree" She laughs
"Don't you mean the weeds?" Maleficent asks
"Ew! Who's the old bat?!" Cruella asks
"This is Fairy Godmother" Mal smiles
"Still doing tricks with eggplants?" Maleficent snickers
"I turned a pumkin into a beautiful carriage!" FG gasps
"You really couldn't give Cinderella until 1am?" Maleficent laughs "I mean, really? What? The hamsters had to be back on their little wheels?" The all laugh and Maleficent and EQ fist bump
"They were mice!" FG replies "They were not..." She turns to us "They were mice! They were not..."
"Thank you so much. Thank you" Mal says
"They were mice!" FG whispers to them before stepping to the side
"Hi, mom!" Mal smiles
"Mal!" Maleficent gasps "I m-miss you!"
"You children are never far from our thoughts!" Jafar says, he says as he waves
"I got it" Maleficent groans "How long must mommy wait to see you?"
"Um, there's a big coronation coming up. I think probably sometime after that" Mal answers
"When?!"
"Friday! 10am"
"You sure I can't see you before that?" She asks "I don't know what I'll do if I don't get my hands on that magic w- You! You little nugget that I love so much!"
"We love you so much!" Jafar smiles
"Yes, I completely understand, mother"
"Carlos?! Is that a dog?!" Cruella asks, taking up the whole screen. I squeeze Carlos's hand and take a deep breath "Ooo, yes, baby I do understand! It would make the perfect size for earmuffs!" She laughs. He steps forward and takes me with him as our hands we're still holding on to each other
"He's the perfect size for a pet!" Carlos snaps "This dog loves me and I love him! And FYI, your dog is stuffed! So give it a rest" The others laugh and Cruella backs down
