To Haven We Will Go

Y/N POV

I awaken to find myself in a house. Sitting up the sound of a door opening is heard. Looking there I see Neo walking in with a tray of food. Her eyes lock with mine as she drops the tray wrapping me in a hug.

Neo: "You've finally opened your eyes! I was starting to fear the worst."

Y/N: "Sorry for worrying you."

We let go as she sits next to me.

Neo: "So what happened to you?"

Y/N: "At Beacon Tower I saw Pyrrha about to be killed. I challenged her attacker where they revealed themselves as a gifted."

Her eyes slightly widen.

Neo: "I thought you were the only one still alive."

Y/N: "So did I."

Neo: "Did they say anything useful?"

Y/N: "Just that a battle's brewing."

Neo: "Battle?"

Y/N: "For leadership of the gifted."

Neo: "Where?"

Y/N: "Haven. If what Ezekiel said is to be believed."

Neo: "So what're we gonna do?"

Y/N: "For now rest. Then when we're ready we'll hike to Haven to see if what Ezekiel said is true."

There's a clutter outside the door. I quietly make my way there. After grabbing the doorknob I yank the door open. This makes Ruby fall onto the ground chuckling nervously.

Ruby: "Hey guys."

Y/N: "Eavesdropping are we?"

Ruby: "I'm sorry."

Y/N: "How much did you hear?"

Ruby: "Enough."

Y/N: "Well at least it's just you."

Her scroll then rings. She silences it. But that's when a voicemail is heard.

Jaune: "What do you mean Y/N and Neo are leaving? My team and I will be there when we can."

I tilt my head making Ruby smile nervously.

Y/N: "I suppose having more company wouldn't hurt."

*timeskip* 

Ruby: "I'm bored!!!"

Y/N: "You wanted to join so now you must deal with the boredom."

Nora: "I can't feel my feet."

Neo: "You'll get used to it."

Jaune: "Says the one getting a piggy back ride."

Y/N: "She sprained her ankle, she needs to be off of it."

Ren: "But that was two days ago."

Neo: "I twisted it real bad."

Ruby: "It's been a month. I'm not sure how much longer I can go on."

The others voice their agreement.

Y/N: "I swear, you kids act like you've never been on a cross continent hike before."

Nora: "We kinda haven't."

Y/N: "Then you shouldn't have come on this journey."

Jaune: "How're you not tired?"

Y/N: "Because I spent a lotta years hiking. I'm used to it."

Neo: "Plus he can always switch to a less exhausted version of himself."

Others: "That's cheating."

Y/N: "It's called making good use of your power. Something you should all be doing."

Nora: "But school's over. There's nothing more to learn."

I stop turning around.

Y/N: "Don't ever say that. There're always be more to learn. I'm almost a hundred years old and I'm still learning. True school may be over but that doesn't mean you've learned everything yet. The day you stop learning is the day you die. It's harsh but that's the way it is."

I turn around resuming the walk. That's when the others whisper.

Ruby: "Kinda pessimistic if you ask me."

Nora: "You'd think he was a nihilist."

Neo: "I've often wondered that."

Y/N: "You do know I can hear you guys right?"

Nora: "It's like he has super hearing."

I roll my eyes continuing on the walk. The next day after cleaning up camp we head out. We walk when Ruby pulls out the map tilting her head.

Ruby: "Okay... we're lost."

Neo: "No we're not. The next town should Shion."

Ruby: "How do you know?"

Neo: "Y/N and I often visited there while walking. It's a nice place. They also have this cute little salon. When we get there you can have them fix you up. Maybe even give you a cute little red bow."

She blushes which makes Neo laugh. I slightly smile when Nora gasps. We look to see the once great Shion going up in smoke.

Neo: "No."

Y/N: "Come on, let's check for survivors."

We rush into the town to hopefully find anyone left alive.
