"Shit kid." Negan breathed out, after I finished explaining the whole story. My fingers were sweaty, legs bouncing, eyes glossy but my head was down.

I was surprised at how quiet he was. His expression was dropped, no longer pissed off at how I didn't respond to him at first.

"And then what? You, your daddy and uncle skipped off into fantasy land?" He asked as if he was in disbelief.

"It was just us for a while, met up with a group in Atlanta. Where we first met Rick." I said and he hummed in response. "Long story short my uncle didn't make it after a while."

"Well I'm sorry to hear that. Really kid, You are one tough gal." He points Lucille at me swiftly but I shake my head. "He was an asshole anyways. I don't need your pity."

He chuckles in response to be quick witted attitude. "Pardon my French but remind me never to give you sympathy." He says expressively. "Explains why you ain't scared of shit, and how you and your dad are the exact same."

He stood up quickly and opened his arms. "That's all I wanted to know, wasn't hard huh?" He put his hands down and swung Lucille over his shoulder and stepped towards his doors. "Let's go kids. It should be ready."

"What should be ready?" Carl asked and turned around to look at Negan.

Negan turned to look at us, a smile plastered on his face. "The Iron."

He then led us back to the main block of his place, where another large crowd had gathered. Carl and I followed hand in hand, he wiped loose tears off my face and I tried my best to give him a smile but struggled.

Negan banged Lucille against the railing, as a way of introducing himself, and everyone knelt in unison as they saw their leader. I couldn't help but notice by dad stood next to a guy tied up to a chair, my dad holding a mop. Dwight was by the fireplace, heating up an iron. I felt sickened at the sight of my dad kneeling too.

"Hold that for me." Negan passed the bat over to Carl who held it in his free hand. Carl looked over to me, the same expression stuck on his face like when Rick was always in close contact with the bat and was forced to hold it. That look told me and probably anyone else that he was doing everything in his power to hold himself from bashing Negan's brains in, the same way he had done to Glenn and Abraham.

"You know the deal." Negan addressed his crowd. "What's about to happen is gonna be hard to watch. I don't wanna do it. I wish I could just ignore the rules and let it slide, but I can't. Why?"

"Rules keep us alive." The people below chorused.

"That is right." Negan slowly agreed. "We survive. We provide security for others. We bring civilisation back to this world. We are...the Saviours. But we can't do that without rules. Rules are what make it all work. I know it's not easy, but there's always work. There is always a cost. Here, if you try to skirt it, if you try to cut that corner, then it is the Iron for you. On your feet." He ordered with a finishing smile.

I looked over at my dad who was kneeling and then proceeded to stand. When I attempted to make eye contact he looked away quickly. I knew that he didn't want me to see him like this, but I couldn't help but worry. I looked over to Carl who also had a worried expression on his face, which matched mine, before walking down the stairs behind Negan. We stopped just at the front of the group as Negan continued forwards, stopping before the fire and putting on a heatproof glove.
