Friday morning everyone was greeted by a happy Lena that alone made everyone extra wary around her. After all she dosent walk the halls smiling for the hell of it.

"Hey Lena" even Kara and her never ending optimusm couldn't put a damper on her mood today. "What do you want Kara?"

"Well you know about the whole rose thing?" All Lena could do was raise an eyebrow "Yeah of course I do" watching the blond sturt rustling one are in the bottomless pit that she calls her bag "anyway I um I found the asignment I did and I re-rote it in english cause I thought you might want it. Her hand was still digging like seriously what does she keep in there. "Ah ha here it is" she adjusted her glasses and whipped out a small handmade booklet flapping it around her face.

"Hmm...thanks Kara" and so Lena none to gently took the pages from her hands and walked towards her own locker. Behind her she could see the younger danvers gusshing over her gratitude.

Within her locker was a yellow rose. Lena didn't even have to look through the pages Kara had just given to her to know what yellow stood for. It was for freindship. Why would she be given a yellow rose now especialy after yesterdays note confused her beyond her knowladge.

The bell rang before Lena could dwell on it more. And so she made her way to the first class of the day. Thoughts not to revisit roses till the end of the day when the note was lying down underneath the rose. Deciding to wait until she was at home to read it, cause lets face it no body wants to stay at school late on a friday, no matter how much they enjoy it.

Throwing her bedroom door closed behind her, putting the yellow rose in the vase on her dresser along with the others her room now having the faint floral aroma floating through the air. Pulling out the paper Kara gave her earlier, and she started leafing through it. So much of it was tottaly useless, like who really cares where all the subgenes origanate from. Flicking through the pages of the mostly useless report. Seriously how much crap could someone wright about one plant.

Finally Lena got to the part she wanted, running her eyes down the page, amased the so much could be derived from the flowers. Skimming over the colors, an straight on to the numbers.
A single rose was for devotion. Not entirely sure what that was supposed to mean, then again whoever her admirer was they always saw something that Lena could not. Countibg the amount that had gathered in her glass. Seven. Running down tne page till she found it. 'I'm infatuated with you' well that wasn't much of a surprise, not after yesterday. Then again its nit like they would have known that Kara was going to give her this today. So for not that thought was benched. Putting the paper aside she drew out the note.

---------------

Lena,

The first time I saw you with James I couldn't help but feel envious. Even though I knew you were together, but even so watching you both together, acting all couple-ly, it was like being punched in the stomach. It is something I have grown used to, yet it hurts more every time it happens.

I can't help it when jealously flows through me at the sight of you with him. I cant help but cast my eyes to the floor every time he slings his arm around your sholders, or when he looks at you with those loving eyes, or the times he will kiss you with all the love and care in the world.

Don't get me wrong I don't want to come between the both of you no matter what it may seem like with these notes. I just want you to know that I wish it was me standing next to you instead.

Jealously, Lena could have sworn yellow was for freindship. Sitting up on her bed Lena reached for the stack of paper again, flicking through it until she found yellow. It was for freinship and jealously. Odd combonation.

Re-reading the letter Lena couldn't help but feel that this was more of a rant then a note. Really, it was hardly the nicest or emotionally investing note she had received. But what if they chose to unleash it all to Lena herself so she would be left feeling special? Or wanted? She wasn't sure exactly. But ither way it wasn't something she'd felt in a while.

Piling the note along with the others on her desk. Lena dug her laptop out of her bag and began a hopefully productive night of wirighting.
