Lena spent the entire weekend couped up in her house hardly leaving her room at all. Insparation had struck Lena late friday night and apart from giving herself a break to do her homework those 48 hours of freedom were spent staring at a laptop screen.

So absored in her task that catching a movie with the rest of the superfreinds completely slipped her mind until she was setting her alarm late Sunday night, and noticed three missed calls and multiple text messages along the lines of 'where are you' only then did she remember she had missed something even more important.

The roses

With that in mind Lena headed outside to check what colors had been left benind in the last two days. Clad only in her pjamas Lena checked the frount door, the car, front porch, back door, letter box, and even the windows. They all came up blank. A sinking feeling setteled in her stomach slowly engolfing her, as she tried to figure where else they could be, continually comming up blank.

What if she missed them? What if they wernt even delivered to her house but to some other location, like the movies she was supposed to go to on saturday or her favorite coffee shop which she went to every Sunday morning. That dosent seem too far fetched right. Besides this person seem to know everything that she does and when.

Wandering back inside completely ignoring the questioning and highly disaproving look from her Mother as she made her way back up to her room. Maybe yellow was the lasr color they had to give her. Bannishing that idea immideately, Lena knows there are more. There was no way they would just leave it at that right?

Flopping on to her bed Lena layed there alone panicking thoughts about something or someone thats she was thinking not even a week ago was rediculous and stupid. Now look at her, all anxtious over not getting one.

To say Lena slept well would be a gross understatement. Infact when she finally succumbed to slumber, it was only to be awoken a few hours later to by the sound of her shrill phone alarm. Tired and blured eyed Lena made her way into the school, silently daring anyone to mention hee appearance

Despite the death looks she was distributing to the people who's eyes lingered at her for a little to long, she couldn't wait to get to her locker and find a rose sitting in there. Alas she was sorely disappointed.

"God damn it" the loud shout startling them around her as she slammed her locker shut. When did they start meaning so much to her anyway?

No matter how many times she checked her locker, her bag or anywhere else she could think of the rose and note remained exclusive, and with each failed descovery the dark storm cloud over Lena's head grew.

"Lena" It was the end of the day and James had decided to find out what was bugging his girlfreind. "What" she all but complained in his face with a slightly more then bored tone.

"Whats the matter?" Lena's eyes narrowed as she the way he leaned up against someones lockers without a care in the world.

"Nothing"

"Lena"

A small pause lingered while Lena considered her options "Fine this way" she said grabbing him by the arm and dragging him towards the janitors closet. Once safely inside the small sanctuary, the girl ploped herself on the hard concrete, they should really put a couch in here with the amount of time she spent in there avoiding classes.

"So.." Jame's started leaning up against the door, whats with all the leaning, can't he stand up by himself. "...Right... You know that rose I got the other day?" Continuing at his nod "Well someone has been giving them to me since the Friday before last. Along with a note for each, explaining what they believe each means in a relation to me.

"And well ive been getting them everyday since. But they stopped on Saturday, but I didn't leave the house so maybe I missed it,  but there wasnt one on Sunday ither. Or today. And well I guess I just started to expect them".

Silence hovered in the room and James processed what she just said only being broken by the chatter of students outside in the halls.

"Well maybe they ran out of things to say or roses to give you". How could he be so calm about this? She was more supprided that he wasn't angry or jelous that someone is more  or less flirting with?

"No" the simple shake of her head following as though his idea was entirely out of the question. "No?" He questioned with a confused but also amused smirk on his face. "No they wouldn't do something like that not without saying something"

"But they could, you don't even know who they are" James logic was reasonable, on some level Lena knew this. She couldn't shake the feeling that she was wrong though.

"No, you havent read the letters they have left, they wouldn't do that". Sighing James gave in " So thats all thats bugging you then"?

Thats all? Thats all! He says it like it's totally irrelevant, like it means nothing. Anger bubbling up again Lena shoves James out of the way and made her way through the empty hall, everyone long gone, as sh marched her way to her locker to check one more time. Finding it in the same state she left it in, Lena growled and slammed the door. She could hear James following and calling after her as she made her way to her car.

That night saw Lena sitting upon her bead re-reading each note. It was like she was adicted to them. Glancing at the roses, just in time to see the first petal fall from the light pink one, that couldn't have been a good sign.
