                                                    Thomas's POV

"Man, didn't expected the flight would take days, it almost felt like a whole week." I groaned as i stretch a bit.

I sighed as I grabbed my phone from my pocket and unlock it, Right after i unlock my phone my phone then ring, it was my dad.

I tap the call button.

"Hello?" I said as my father sighed in relief, "Thank goodness you got there safely." Dad replied.

"What? Are you overthinking again dad?" I said with a slight sigh, "I just can't stop worrying after the plane took off." My father groaned a bit from the other side of the phone.

I chuckled, "You always get worried a lot whenever I'm on my own, I'm not surprised, But I'll be fine dad, You shouldn't worry too much." I replied as he groaned again.

"Fine fine... But still call me if something is wrong alright?" Dad said worriedly, "I will dad." I replied.

"Anyways, I've called an old friend of mine there, His a tiger same height as me, probably wearing a black sleeveless jacket, he is already out there at the airport lobby waiting, won't be hard to spot him, his a landlord in the university, a quite strict guy and can get easily pissed off, but he will be the one who will give the key to your dorm, don't cause too much problems to him, he will also look after you while you're studying there." My father said in such long detail.

Wow of course, why am I not surprised, Dad will always send or asked someone to look after me.

I facepawed as i sigh, "Thanks dad, for the info, but is it really necessary for him to look after me?" I asked, "Yes of course, I don't want anything that might horribly happen to you." Dad replied in a serious tone.

"Alright fine." I said groaning a bit, "Well, I have to go now son, I need to work now." Dad said as i heard some people calling his name from the other side of the phone.

"Oh alright, don't work too much tho." I replied, "I wont." He said and fell silent for a moment.

"Good luck out there son, and love you." Dad replied, I chuckled a bit.

"You too dad, love you too." I replied back, before he hang up.

I then put my phone back in my pocket, I then grabbed my luggage and head to the lobby.

When i arrived at the lobby, It was so crowded, I groaned.

'How am i gonna find this guy-'

Right as i even started looking, I spotted him, waving at me.

Huh, dad sure was right, didn't even had a hard time finding him, since his taller than most people in the lobby, and why of course not... He has to be more intimidating than my father.

I waved back slowly approaching him, "I assume you're Alex's son?" He replied in a deep voice.

Yeah... Not pissing him off is on my list.

I nodded then responded, "Yep, My names Thomason Raygrant, It's a pleasure to meet you uh..."
"Logan, Logan Mordain." Logan replied as i only nodded.

"Come on, I still need to head to the university to arrange a few things, I'll just give you a ride at my place and stay for a day, Since the ranking test will start tomorrow morning." He said grabbing my luggage.

"So uhh, how does this ranking test works?" I asked as we both started walking to the exit.

"Hm, I don't know much about this information, But i think you will be tested by showing your current strength at first, depending on how much power level you have, If you got a low power level or more, you are either set to Low, Elite, Master, or even the X rank." He explained to which i nodded in understanding.

"Huh, seems easy." I said as Logan laughed, "Oh I wouldn't be so sure about that." Giving me a grin.

Why am i having a bad feeling on whats about to come tomorrow.

I just shrug it off, as we continue walking until we arrived at his car, I then entered putting my luggage at the back and then put my seat belt on, Logan then started the car and started driving

After a few minutes of driving, we then eventually arrived at his house, I was a bit surprised on how big his house was.

What was i expecting from a landlord of a well known academy.

"You should take a rest, you need a lot of energy tomorrow." Logan said to which i nodded in response.

"Thanks for the lift, I appreciate it." I said with a smile, "Don't make a mess in my house." He said glaring at me.

"I-i wont..." I replied stuttering a bit, yeah... his really intimidating, better not pissed him off.

He then closed the car, before driving off, I sighed a bit as i then turn around.

"Oh boy, I'm gonna say it again... This is really going to be a one hell of a journey." I said to myself before grabbing the hat father gifted me from my previous birthday out from my luggage.

I look at it as a smile appeared on my face, before wearing it as I then entered the house.

Few hours later.

I fall on the bed still tired from the flight, as I let out a long yawn, while I stare at the ceiling.

Tomorrow's going to be a new life, new school, new friends? Well making some new friends aren't actually on my list, considering I prefer to be alone most of the time and just to graduate... Hmm, maybe I can make a few, after that I'm just gonna focus on getting my own personal adventurer badge.

Probably gonna venture around the world and see what this world has to offer and maybe help figuring out the mystery of the rift that opens every 3 weeks.

There were so many incidents that occurs whenever a rift opened, many innocent people who had lost life whenever i beast came out of the rift.

It's the job of the adventurers to defend and prevent them entering our world, which is insanely hard.

But tho... Their are some people who actually make contracts with them, I don't really know much about how this contracting works, but maybe I'll learn when the class starts.

I yawned again as my eyes started to feel heavy, "Should probably sleep now, need to get a lot of energy tomorrow after all." I chuckled softly as i slowly drift to sleep.
