The Siren's Call

Chapter 11

Nico's POV

Darkness littered my surroundings, usually I loved the dark, but this made me feel uncomfortable. I blinked hoping it would go away and it did. But not in the way i expected, I was in my fathers throne room, i felt sad, well sadder than usual. Like I was missing something.

I looked down, I was in my fathers robes. I was on my fathers throne. I saw my reflection. I was my father. A skeleton came in wearing ancient Greek battle armor. Click, Click, Click, Click. That roughly translated to My Lord, you have a guest, a living guest. "Send them in." I grumbled.

I did it without my permission, I had no control. The throne room door opened revealing a girl with hair covering her face. Her clothes were tattered and muddy. She lifted her face. It was Hallie. "What are you doing here, mortal gosling?" I asked my voice coldly.

She quickly bowed her legs, trembling. "L-lord Hades, I know this may not be the best of times, considering your wife has just retired to the mortal world. But I wish to ask A favor, I will gladly repay in any way.." She rambled on.

I could tell my father was getting angry. "SILENCE GIRL!!" He bellowed. Hallie seemed to shrink, not daring to look at the god. "I-m sorry my lord." she mumbled. "Continue you on before your time's up..." She slowly nodded. "This may seem a little out there, but I wish to talk to two souls, more specifically my parents." She seemed somber.

"Now why would I ever do that girl, that marks you special enough for that?" My fathers words lurked forward. "My parents and friend were slaughtered, burned, stabbed. I haven't seen them in 4 years. Your brother I believe were the ones who did it, they've been after me." She seemed to stumble upon her words, trying not to cry. My father shook. "I may not like my brothers but that does not mean I will give you even a minute with your parents souls in fact," Suddenly I had control again.

"I'll allow you a week with them, give you enough time to catch up with them for the last 4 years. You may also stay here in the underworld, until things blow over." She nodded and wiped her tears away. "I have a husband, above the surface, may I see him If I wish or at iris message him." I nodded. I summoned a guard to take her to her own chamber where her parents were waiting.

Darkness was around me again. Hallie was sitting on a chair. There was one across from her, she beckoned me to sit. "I'm deeply sorry, Lady Hallie." I whispered. She smiled. "Nico, you are the first son of Hades or any child of Hades I have encountered, your answer was beautiful, more than I expected. You gave me the thing I wanted the most. Thank you." I bowed my head towards here.

I did what I felt was right, I understood her pain of losing everything. She got up. "Now, you and your friends have fully passed my test, it's time for you to go back, but I need to speak to you all before you go. A lot will happen tonight." I nodded, sighing.

She snapped her fingers suddenly. Jason and Percy were not next to me, bewildered from who knows what. We were in for a lot. I could feel it.
