"Thank you so much, Yanfei," a merchant spoke gratefully to the legal advisor sitting by her desk, "If it weren't for your help, I might have given all of my fortune to that scammer!"

"You're very welcome. You must always ensure credibility of potential business partners next time so this doesn't happen again," Yanfei smiled at the merchant.

"I will. I will be ever grateful to you," the merchant said. "So, the consultation fee is five hundred thousand mora and additional payments for documentations adds another two hundred and fifty. I trust that the fee will be settled?" Yanfei asked.

"But of course! I'll have the money sent over as soon as I get back home," the merchant said. "Splendid," Yanfei grinned, "If you have anymore problems in the future, feel free to consult me anytime!"

Yanfei spent her morning deliberating over her clients' cases–some being minor consultations about the law while others being as heavy as a divorce as well as a dispute over child custody.

That was the last case she handled as she knew it was going to take the longest time and heaviest burden on her mind and soul. As usual, Yanfei was right.

"I heard the man was intent on suing his ex-wife if she dared to take the little kid. What an unfortunate family," one of Yanfei's co-workers said as they placed a glass of water on the worn-out advisor.

"The woman didn't have a choice but relent since she was financially unstable while the man was a rich tycoon that committed adultery many times before. He must be thinking that by consulting me, he will be able to secure his grip on the child and that I will take the bribe," Yanfei shook her head.

"So... You let the woman take the child?" her co-worker asked. "I had the child sent over to daycare while I assist the woman in her case against the ex-husband. He will also have to compensate for committing domestic violence and pay for child support until the court settles their case," Yanfei held her head problematically.

"Honestly... I really hate these kinds of cases. They ruin my mood for the day," she puffed her cheeks.

"No one wants to ever have to mediate in a family's problems–Not even the worst gossipmongers will want to. We're just lucky to have someone as pragmatic and level-headed as you," Yanfei's co-worker patted her shoulder.

"Yes... I just wish I don't end up too pragmatic," Yanfei muttered, "Or else I'll lose the other side that makes me human."

Yanfei took a quick snack before going through her legal readings, trying to browse through Ningguang's new ammendments to the Bill of Stakeholding, which she heard that Soleil had a hand in making.

Yanfei didn't know what to feel about that. Soleil was a dangerous person as she is. If she were also able to grasp the law... Just how much chaos will she be able to stir with that knowledge?

Soon enough, Yanfei was able to get her break. She yawned as she made her way out of her office. But as soon as she opened the door, she froze and her guard was immediately raised.

"What are you doing here?" Yanfei looked sternly at the figure in white leaning against the wall. A pair of golden eyes flickered towards Yanfei, causing the adeptus girl to feel more alert.

"Oh, nothing much. I heard a fight nearly broke out during a discussion about a divorce. I came to see if it was true or not," Soleil shrugged.

"I didn't know you were the type to butt into other people's business," Yanfei crossed her arms. Soleil's lips quirked.

"Neither are you," she said. Yanfei's eyebrows quirked. She then walked past Soleil and exited the office.

"Hu Tao invited you to the hot springs yesterday night but you refused," Soleil appeared beside Yanfei, causing her to flinch in alert.
