Y/N's POV -

Friday nights where your repetitive schedule for academic or occupational obligations are over. Not caring for when you'll be sleeping or coming home. Letting loose after a long week of stacked work.

While I'm at a restaurant, blouse unbuttoned, hair loose, and on the phone for work. But, it'll be the last business call for the night.

As I listened on the phone, eating my dinner, a couple joined the small café.

My eyes rolled at the sight of the two people. I was at the furthest table in the corner of the restaurant for exactly these incidents.

I continued talking on the phone, while I saw them in the corner of my eye, making their way over to me.

"Y/N ?" One of the people's voice called. Deep breaths and sighs before facing the couple. "Hi..." I mouth, signaling me being on a call.

They silently apologized, going to the cashier to order. It's one of those days when I'm beyond grateful to be talking to an investor.

But that gratefulness quickly subsided when the call was ended, leaving me alone with a couple I do not want to be talking to.

I ran my fingers through my hair, stretching my neck from the strain. "Tired ?" Natasha asked. I nodded, putting papers to the side.

"Dinner date ?" I asked Maria when she finished their order. "Yeah, and you ?" She asked. "Umm, business call, past shift, still doing work sort of dinner date ?" I said while they laughed.

After that, they found their own table and spent their date laughing and eating. While I was solving puzzles on my phone. Oh, how life can be unfair ?

----------

I did notice the glances of Nat while she was talking to her girlfriend. I stood up and walked to the washroom.

Once I walked out of the cubicle, the redhead was by the sinks.

I ignored her presence and washed my hands. "I've never seen you out right after work." She said, turning off the tap. "Of course, you have, you'd just rather enjoy remembering me in places that have more of a sharp memory to you..." I turned off the tap, leaning over her to grab tissues.

"You two seem very happy." I said, wiping my hands, still very close to her. "We are." She assured me, trying to back away from being pinned on the counter.

"You seemed very busy, what were you doing ?" She asked me. "I was busy solving puzzles." I refrained from lying, knowing that she now knows that I know that she was staring at me while I was solving a crossword puzzle.

"If I were you, I'd focus more on my significant other rather than my ex. Maria seems very on edge, seeing you look at me on your date together. I wouldn't want for you two to breakup."

I falsely pout, grabbing Nat's hands. "Pay attention to your girlfriend, honey." I said, placing paper towels for her wet hands.

----------

Once I walked out of the washroom, the redhead followed. The café was small and silent enough to notice when someone walks in or out. Especially for the brunette, who noticed her partner come out with a tense expression.

While I grabbed my things and left a tip, I noticed a small note on the table. It was a number of a worker of the restaurant with a note, 'call me.'

I looked around and spotted a girl, who smirked at me, noticing the note on my hand. I laughed back, giving her a wink before handing the tip to her.

As I walked out of the restaurant, I looked at Nat, who I know was watching every moment of the exchange of looks me and that worker had. "Puzzles." I mouth, showing her the note and smirking at her annoyed face.
