"I'm sorry sir, but I can't help you", you grunted through an unfaltering smile as you faced a drunk, angry customer for the third time that day. You had gotten used to dealing with people like them.

"What?", he bellowed. "Look here, this is no way to treat customers,"

You laughed to yourself. Compared to the treasure hoarder incident that happened three days ago, an obnoxious customer was nothing.

"I'm sorry sir, but you can't get a free drink. I don't care how many times you've been here, rules are rules. Please leave before I call a knight," you replied, your voice steady and commanding at the same time. You watched, relieved, as the customer turned and stormed out.

"Well, that's the last one for today," you yawned, stretching. The only thing left to do for today was lock up and leave.

You finished wiping down the tables and were about to leave when you felt a firm hand around your waist. You turned around as the familiar redhead pulled you close. Your heart fluttered and you looked up to see Diluc smiling at you affectionately. Your knees were about to give out

"Where are you going?", he asked, tilting his head and letting you go.

"My shift is over, I'm going home," you clarified, actually wanting to stay here with him instead.

"Do you have to go?", he asked, leaning close to you. Unable to look at him you blushed and looked away.

"Well...I guess I can stay a few more minutes...", you mumbled, sheepishly. This man's allure was too much for you to refuse.

"What was that?", he gazed at you, placing his head in his hands.

You could've melted into the floor. "Uh...", you stuttered, trying to figure out how to keep your cool. Laughing, he pulled you into his arms and held you. Your face felt like it was going to explode, but you couldn't help staring at him as he let out a sincere laugh. Moonlight fell on his fair face, highlighting his attractive features. Without thinking, you subconsciously reached out to brush a strand of hair away from his face.

Startled after realizing what you did, you were about to pull your hand away, but he held it and intertwined his fingers with yours. You looked down, trying to hide your red face. A moment later you felt his lips on your forehead and you looked up, startled. His gaze was so affectionate that it made you weak in the knees. You were blinking furiously trying to get your heartbeat under control.

The space between your face and his started shrinking as he moved closer, staring at your lips. You couldn't help but do the same. He was too alluring. His arms tightened around your waist and you wrapped your arms around his neck. His lips were barely inches away from yours.

Melting into his embrace, you closed your eyes. Then a pause. You slowly opened your eyes and looked up at Diluc, who looked utterly startled as he stared at something behind you.

Wondering what he was looking at, you turned and let out a sharp gasp as you realized what it was. In the back of the tavern at one of the dimly lit tables in the corner, sat the Captain of the Knights of Favonius. Kaeya Alberich. He was covering his mouth, trying his best not to laugh. But he failed, much to Diluc's and your annoyance at being interrupted.

He burst out laughing, bending over. How long was he here?? You practically melted into the floor out of embarrassment while trying to figure out how much he'd seen. You felt Diluc trembling with anger beside you. From the way he was glaring daggers at his brother, Kaeya didn't seem to care. "I came here for a drink, but got something quite different.", he bemused, standing up.

"What. Are. You. Doing. Here.", Diluc demanded, his cheeks turning pink from embarrassment. Holding his hands up as if surrendering, Kaeya walked past you both. "Just pretend I was never here," he said, walking towards the door. "You guys can go back to....doing your business," he chuckled, striding out of the tavern.

Muttering under his breath, you saw Diluc balling his hands into fists while glaring at the door. You couldn't help but laugh out loud. Diluc looked at you and his gaze immediately softened. "Where were we?", he asked.

"You tell me", you said, chuckling. He pulled you closer and placed his lips on yours. Before you could react to the sudden kiss, he pulled away and you stared at his face, which was even more gorgeous up close. As you gazed at him, you couldn't help but smile. Being in his arms was everything you could have ever asked for.

The End :)

Author's note:

Hey guys, this is my first time writing a fanfic and I hope you enjoyed it! I actually got this idea because I was so desperate to pull for Diluc, and wondered what it'd be like if I actually went into the game (don't we all)

Anyway, I really had lots of fun writing this story, and hope you had fun reading it. I kind of have another idea for a fanfic, so that's coming too :)

Thanks for reading
