I was currently sleeping in my bed, enjoying the softness of it and enjoying the tranquility of it. However, I heard something jumping onto my bed and shuffling around the mattress but I didn't care much to open my eyes to see what it was so I just fell asleep right then and there
???: "Psst hey! hey! Wake up! Wake up Phantom!" -A little red-orange western dragon said trying to wake up me-
Me: [Snoring]
???: ".....Hmph" [WHACK!] -They suddenly strike me to get me up -
Me: "AAAHH! I'M UP! DID I MISS THE BUS!?" -I yelled while getting up in a false alarm-
I woke up in panic only to see my little one on my bed and between my legs. Oh... It's just Kai. My little unintentional OC. I also realized that it's Spring break so I don't have to go anywhere.
Me: [Yawn] "Oh... hey Kai, what are you doing here? Do you need something?"
Kai, my OC, was the main character in a book I was making called 'Sisu and the Last Fire Dragon'. It had been a while since I had begun writing but ever since I had made Kai, he just... appeared. So of course I adopted him into my little pet dragon. I mean in this world, people have had their OCs come to them in real life and Kai is technically an OC of mine which meant I now was his owner. His canon form in the book is a 10-foot dragon but he isn't actually that big, he's about the size of a puppy instead. I mean he can be bigger if he wants to but...
~Flash back~
Day: Last Fall- 2021
Time: 12:30pm
Location: My kitchen
Me: "Are you naturally this small Little One or?" -I asked Kai who was just sitting on a kitchen counter watching me while I was cooking something-
Kai: "W-Wha?! A-Are you callin' me weak?" -His face changed to a mildly peeved expression while starting to glow-
Me: "Huh? Wha-What are you doing?" -I asked as I turned around to see him glowing-
He suddenly began growing in size and his body started to knock off some items. But I was too stunned at the fact that he held powers in the same way as he does in my book.
Me: "W-WOAH HOLD ON THERE! I WASN'T CALLING YOU WEAK OR-" -I suddenly exclaimed trying to get him to stop growing-
But before he could grow any bigger he suddenly fell to the ground. As he lay there, he suddenly started to shrink back to his puppy size. I then picked him up by holding him under his arms. His hind legs and wings drooped there.
Me: "Look, I didn't mean to be offensive to you." -I apologized while looking at him-
Kai: "Yes and No..." -He suddenly answered looking down-
Me: "Huh? What do you mean by that?" -I asked confused-
Kai: "I am naturally this small but not my choice." -He said while looking up at me-
Me: "Is this another thing about having an OCs?"
Kai: "Yeah, you see, we OCs have our original size to be small and manageable in our owner's lives unless..." -he trailed off-
Me: "Unless what?" -I pressed on, eager to know more-
Kai: "Unless the owner allows us to ascend to our "canon" size or a size that they desire."
Me: "Woah, Woah, Woah. What do you mean by 'allows us'?" -I paused him due to my confusion-
Kai: "Well since we are created by the mind and will of our owners, it is natural that they are our owners." -He said while waving his hand around in a gesture-
Me: "So are you saying that if I wished it so, you can actually grow to be 10 feet tall?" -I said referencing his canon size-
Kai: "Yeah."
Me: "Well how does that even work? Just by saying it or?" -I asked while gesturing my hand
Kai: "That's the tricky part. I can't answer that."
Me: "Wha? Why not?" -I asked tilting my head-
Kai: "Because the method of that is also determined by the owner."
Me: "So like if I thought and willed that you needed to eat something or do something to be your canon form, that's how it'll work?"
Kai: "Yup, pretty much."
Me: "Anything?"
Kai: "Anything." (Don't get any funny ideas readers.)
Me: "Okay... but couldn't that be a bad thing though?" -I asked again raising an eyebrow-
Kai: "What do you mean?"
Me: "If owners can decide what needs to happen for their OCs to be their canon size or to change their size in general, can't the owner decide for it to be something... wrong?"
Kai: "Y-Yeah... it can be. It's like pet owners, some are good with their pets. Others are..."
