There's a lot of beautiful things in this world but nothing will ever be as beautiful as the woman who sits across from me.

Her hazel and blue-green eyes. Her skin that glows underneath the heat of the sun. The way she plays with her fingers when there's uncomfortable silence. Even the way her chest heaves when she inhales the fall scent of September. And especially when she is persistent to drink her cranberry juice from a straw and only eat Cocoa Puffs for breakfast.

I've been coming over to Anastasia's apartment for the last two weeks everyday after work. I promised to be here for her. Cassandra started school a few days after their mothers funeral. I promised to teach her how to drive later tonight when she got back.

"Ah shit. See I can do this stupid game." I watched as Anastasia threw herself back on the ground. Her arms sprawled out above her head. Her shirt lifted to her bra, I found myself locked in a trance as she so effortlessly made me excited. "Hey! Big idiot, stop looking at me like that." She complained while rolling to her side.

I traced the bottom of my lip with my middle finger. "It's not my fault you suck at battleship." I said as I dug my toes into her leg to piss her off.

Why? Because she's sexy as hell when she's pissed.

She grabbed my foot and shook it violently. "I'm not old like you. I never played this game till today."

I rolled my eyes. "Then why did you have it?" I ask, quirking up my eyebrow.

"I used to go to a lot of antique stores with my mother. I saw it one day and picked it up then never touched it again." Her eyes drew distant stares from the room. As if she was trying to put together a memory inside her head. "Me and my mother stopped going when she got sick... so it must have been awhile ago when I got the game." She sat up from laying down and dragged herself up off the floor. "This game is stupid. I'm done playing it." She stomped her way to the kitchen. Pulling out a bag of chips.

I watched the way her hips moved as she walked and the way her eyes were so transfixed on the food she was eating. I even watched her slowly lean against the counter like someone was pleasing her. Then the front door opened and Cassandra walked in. Throwing her book bag to the floor and escaping the questions that brewed inside her sister everyday. Anastasia gave me a look before following after her.

Distant yelling made me move off the ground. I decided to give them privacy, so I took it upon myself to look around Anastasia's apartment. Her decorations were very minimalistic and neutral. She didn't have many things to look at except a picture of her family. She's at least ten in the picture. I continue to look around till a picture of me catches my eye. It's me with nacho sauce all over my shirt.

No... who gave her this damn picture? I swear.

"Sorry about that." Anastasia says as she blows out a gruffly breath. I turn to her with an annoyed look, the picture of me in my hands. "Oh—" She bursted out into a fit of laughter. "I had to. It was too funny not to print out." She says in defense. Stalking closer to me.
