Chapter 6

     One guard leads you back to the side as Pierce steps up to see the serum effects. He walks around Bucky, muttering. Finally, he steps back, crossing his arms again. "No physical changes. Seems to have not done much for him. Slightly disappointing."

     He turns to leave, and Bucky sits back down, looking exhausted from the simple effort of standing. Pierce nods to the guards. "Take him back to his cell. We'll bring him out for the next test, after some slight modifications." 

     Two guards take each of Bucky's arms, and lead him out of the room. Pierce is about to leave as well when he stops. "Y/n, join me in my office, as well."

     You drop your head. "Yes, sir." You mumble softly. You watch the guards leave, giving Bucky one last small smile as he goes back into the cell. Then you take a deep breath, and follow Pierce silently down the hallway into his office.

     You follow him inside, and he sits at his desk. You don't look him in the eyes, instead looking at your shoes. Pierce taps his pen. "So, Y/n, where is all of this sudden disobedience coming from?"

     You shake your head. "I'm sorry, sir, I don't know what I was thinking."

     He sighs. "I don't want you switching your loyalties from me to Bar-the subject. After all, who offers you a place to stay? With protection, food, and water?"

     You nod. "You do, sir."

     He smiles and folds his hands on the desk. "So, are you going to be loyal to me, or him?"

     "To you, Mr. Pierce."

     He smiles and stands up. "Now, we need to re-evaluate and work on the rest of the testing process for the Super Serum. I trust that you will be helping to prepare the soldier?"

     You look up at him, aghast, but nod.

     "Yes, Mr. Pierce. I will do as much as required."

     He gives a satisfied smile. "Perfect. Now, I want you to remember this little chat, alright?"

     You nod, and he smiles. "Good. You are dismissed."
     You quickly walk out of the office, and up to your room.

     **For the next few weeks, every day you have to help with Bucky's serum injections. You end up becoming close friends with him, secretly.**
