Hydra Agent

Chapter 9

     For the next few days, you continue to visit Bucky, occasionally having to help with injectons.

     One day, a week after your mission in Sokovia, you are talking to Bucky after one of his recent injections. Pierce is away for the week, so you have been able to spend more time with Bucky.

     You smile at Bucky. "Well, I should probably get going upstairs now-"

     Both of you jump as you hear gunfire from upstairs, followed by Hydra guards shouting in Russian.

     Bucky looks alarmed, as he tries to stand up, only to sit back down, weak from the injection. "What the hell was that?"

     You stand up. "I'm not sure."

     You listen carefully, translating what the men are saying to Bucky. "American soldiers have come! They're, trying to free the prisoners? But that doesn't make sense, there's only-"

     Bucky looks at you. "What?"

     You look at him happily. "They've come to free you! Someone named Steve?"

     Bucky nods. "Yep, that sounds about right."

     You nod, going to the door. "I'll go bring them to here!"

     Bucky looks worried. "Be careful, doll. It sounds like chaos up there, I don't want you getting caught in the crossfire."

     You pull your gun out of its holster on your waist. "I'll be fine! And I'll be back in no time!"

     You run out the door, and down the hallway. Suddenly, there is a loud smash, from behind. You turn around, and sprint the other way, back towards Bucky's room.

     You are just passing Bucky's room, into the dark end of the hallway, when someone catches your eye. You are about to say something to him when he throws something at you. It hits your legs, and you fall to the ground, skidding across the floor. Before you can draw your gun, you see him catch the shield, and run up to you.

     He grabs your shoulders, lifting you up, pressing you against the wall. "Where is Bucky?"

     You are about to answer, when you hear Bucky yell from inside the room. "Steve! Don't hurt her!"

     The man turns towards the room door. "Bucky?" You use his distraction to kick the shield away, kicking him away from you in the process.

     You hear Bucky's voice again as Steve hits the ground and gets up again. "Y/n, don't kill Steve!"

     You shake your head, running over to the door past a confused Steve. "Jesus Christ, Bucky, you didn't tell me this was Steve!" You begin rewiring the system on the door, disengaging the alarm.

     Bucky laughs, and Steve looks at you curiously. "Who exactly are you?"

     You shake your head as Bucky's door swings open. "Not important right now. Follow me, I can get you guys out of here."

     Dazed, they both follow you, Steve supporting Bucky. You run upstairs, and quickly shoot two of the guards at the door to the sheds. "Come on! This way!"

     You grab one of the keys off one of the guards, and lead the boys into the shed. You quickly find the vehicle that goes with the keys, a large Hydra truck, and get them in. You put Bucky in the passenger seat, and Steve gets in the back.

     You throw the truck into reverse, and quickly back out of the shed, hearing a thump as you hit a guard. "Sorry!" You yell, as you back out into the open yard. You throw it into drive, and you peel out of the lot, steering wildly to avoid hitting buildings and people.

     Bucky grabs onto the door handle as you make a sharp left. "Where the hell did you learn how to drive?"

     You feel around the dash, eyes glued on the road. "Where the hell do you think? I'm 18, for Christ's sake, no one out here's dying to give me lessons! I've driven, like, twice!"

     You find the notch in the dash, and click it. It opens a compartment, and still watching the path, you hand a gun to Bucky, and two to Steve. "Here! Steve, stand up, and shoot out the top of the truck! Try to pick off any agents on our tail."

     Steve nods. "Like I said, who are you?"

     You shake your head. "Like I said, not important!" Steve shakes his head as he follows your directions, shooting at trailing Hydra guards.
