Family Matters (Gravity Falls)

Chapter 7

Isabel sighs plopping her pack on her back ready to head into the forest.
"I got a good feeling about today, Gompers." She kneels in front of him petting his head "Now I'll be gone a few hours, be good." she gets up and moves to leave stopping as Gompers bleats in response Biting Isabel's pant leg, pulling at it.
"Gompers no, I know you want to come but after what happened last time. I don't want you following me okay." She kneels patting his head "Dont look at me like that. It's not even safe for me to go in sometimes." She smiled then chuckled shaking her head "Alright, alright but you can't go running off. I don't want to have a repeat ok."

Isabel walks towards the gift shop to tell Stan she was leaving, Gompers following behind.

'Hopefully I can find at least one today.' She thinks walking into the gift shop. She stops seeing Mabel peeking through Some Stan-bobbleheads. Curious she walks to her" Mabel what are you doing?"

"Shh, you'll blow my cover." Mabel whispers before looking straight ahead again smiling "He's looking at it! He's looking at it!" she giggles to herself
Isabel follows her glaze to see a boy looking at a note. "Uh...Do you like me? Yes? Definitely? Absolutely!!!" He read then looks around

Mabel smiled giggling more to herself "I rigged it!"

"Mabel," Dipper starts while sparying and clean a jar "I know you're going through your whole "Boy Crazy" phase, but I think you're kind of overdoing it with the "crazy" part."

"What?" Mabel Blows a raspberry at him "Come on, Dipper! This is our first summer away from home! It's my big chance to have an epic summer romance!"

"Yeah, but do you need to flirt with every guy you meet?"
"Mock all you want, brother, but I got a good feeling about this summer. I wouldn't be surprised if the man of my dreams walked through that door right now." She points to a door way

Just then Stan walks through the door and burps, but it gets caught in his throat "Oh! Oh, not good. Ow."
"Aww! Why!" Mabel gorans grossed out
Dipper laugh and Isabel shakes her head
"All right, all right, look alive, people. I need someone to go hammer up these signs in the spooky part of the forest."
"Not it!" Dipper and Mabel quickly say together
"Uh, also not it," Soos says rising is hand
"Nobody asked you, Soos."
"I know, and I'm comfortable with that," he says before biting into a chocolate bar
"Wendy, I need you to put up this sign!" Stan shouts to her as she sits behind the counter
"I would, but I, ugh, can't, ugh, reach it, ugh..." she says pretending to reach for signs
"I'd fire all of you if I could."
"I can do it."
"No Bella not you. You also better not be leaving that goat in here" Stan sighed "All right, let's make it... eenie, meenie, miney..." He points at Dipper "You."
"Aw, what? Grunkle Stan, whenever I'm in those woods, I feel like I'm being watched."
"Ugh, this again."
"I'm telling you, something weird is going on in this town. Just today, my mosquito bites spelled out "BEWARE." Dipper holds up his arm so Stan could read the word
Stan Squints looking at Dipper's arm "That says 'BEWARB.'" Dipper rubs his arm as Stan continues "Look, kid. The whole 'monsters in the forest' thing is just local legend, drummed up by guys like me to sell merch to guys like that." He points to A man who laughs while looking at a Stan-bobblehead's head bobble. "So quit being so paranoid!" He gives Dipper the signs
"His right Dipper these parts forests are safe I've been going in since I was about your age."
"If you're going then why can't you put them up?"
Stan pushes Dipper towards the door "Because she doing something more important for me. Now get going. The both of ya!"
Dipper sighs after Stan slams the gift shops door.
"Listen Dipper don't go poking around ok. You might not like what you find," she tells him before disappearing into the forest
