Amaya

The first day of the semester went by in a snap. Wala namang kakaibang nangyari bukod sa nagmessage ang art teacher ni Oceane.

Nandito tuloy ako sa art store at hilong hilo sa mga nasa listahan. After getting the tapes, brushes, and smocks, I made my way to the shelves of paints.

Kailangan kong bilisan dito dahil pupuntahan ko pa si Caelum. Buti nalang Oceane's staying with my parents kaya libre ako magliwaliw.

I'm busy checking my list ng maramdaman kong may lumapit sa may kaliwang side ko. Hindi ko yun binigyan ng pansin dahil naiinis ako sa dami ng kulay na nakalista.

"Fvcks! What are these crimson and scarlet colors? Can't I just buy the red one?! it's all red naman ah!" Looking at my list frustrated, I heave a deep long sigh. Damn colors!

"Why the hell they invent colors that looks almost the same? Wala na ba talaga magawa mga tao sa buhay nila" Bulong bulong ko habang nakatitig sa papel na hawak ko.

I stopped talking when I felt someone's staring at me. Niready ko na ang masamang tingin na kaya kong ibigay pero natigilan ako ng mabungaran ang pamilyar na mukha at matang yon. It's Caelum, looking straight at me.

"Staring is rude. Pero kung kasing ganda mo naman ang tititig sakin, sige okay lang" I didn't know where I got the guts to utter those words but seeing how her cheeks turned red, brought giddy to me.

"S-sorry.." She nervously apologize.

I chuckled. First time ko ata marinig na nagstutter ang isang Caelum Ferrer.

I saw her grabbing two bottles of paint then extend her hand to me. Giving me the paints. I look at her with questioning gaze.

"That's crimson and scarlet" She softly utter. I immediately get the paints on her hands before putting it down to my cart.

"Thank you" The only words I said before turning back at her. Kinakabahan na kasi ako talaga dahil sa kanya. Pero bago pa man makalayo ay bumaling na ulit ako sa kanya.

"I like your blue shirt, by the way" Giving her a playful wink, I then continue walking away from where she's standing.

Fvcks! Did I just winked at Caelum? You need holy water, Yya!

The first two weeks of the semester passed by in a blink of an eye.

Should I feel sad because Caelum doesn't recognize me? or be thankful because she didn't?

Wala pa din akong balita sa mangyayari dahil hindi pa ulit nagpaparamdam si Caelan.

Kaya para mabantayan si Caelum, I asked Tris - he's my college friend and classmate - to let me join The Ink. Nagkaroon kasi ng openings for co-advisers position sa lahat ng club, luckily Tris agreed right away. Maganda din na naging president ako ng club noong nag aaral ako.
