"Levi." The small boy stated as he tugged on the hem of his shirt.

"That's a nice name." The girl beamed. "You like my dress?" She twirled around spinning to allow the skirt to fly up. Levi stumbled back a step to avoid touching the material.

"Um, sure." He muttered. His reward was to have his arm linked with hers.

"We are going to be best of friends!" She declared.

"That was the first time you met him?" a voice asked. Petra smiled as she laid on the couch before Hange.

"He was so small, so thin. He looked like a wood spirit." She giggled.

"You became friends?" Hange asked.

"Yes. We would walk to school together everyday." Petra said. She frowned. "Levi didn't go to the school in the community we lived. His uncle had enrolled him in the town school. I had to beg my mother to send me there. The only way she would was if I promised to never use my gift in the town school. So, I did. But Levi already had some friends." She pouted.

It was Petra's first day to go to Levi's school. She didn't tell him she had gotten her parents to agree. It had been a few years since he had come to stay with his uncle. They were in middle school now. Petra dressed her best. She put on a green dress with shinny flat shoes. She knew Levi had an issue with his height. With her hair newly cut and styled she walked to the main gates of their community. Levi wasn't there.

Petra waited for several minutes looking around for her friend. When he didn't show up, and if she waited any longer she would be late, she gave up. She hurried off to school. The first thing she noticed was how big the school was. There were so many children. She hugged her books to her chest as she walked in. Keeping her head high, she looked for Levi.

It wasn't until third period she saw him. He was walking beside a very tall red-haired girl, and he was grinning. He looked happy! Levi was always moody and pouty whenever he was around Petra. The girl stomped up to him.

"Levi Ackerman!" She cried. Levi's smile vanished in an instant.

"Petra, what are you doing here?" he demanded.

"I transferred." She told him. Her eyes cutting to the redhead.

"Oh, hey! This is Petra!" The redhead girl exclaimed. She thrust her hand out. "I'm Isabell. Levi talks about you." Isabel rolled her eyes. "Sometimes." She giggled.

"Well, he never talks about you!" Petra spat knocking the hand away. Isabel laughed.

"No, I suppose he wouldn't." She chuckled. "I'll see you at lunch Levi!" She cried ruffling the dark hair.

"Who is she?" Petra demanded.

"A friend." Levi snarled. Petra linked their arms together as she always did, no matter how many times Levi told her he didn't like to be touched. She dragged him down the hall. The teachers agreed for Levi to show the new girl around.

For months things were fine. Levi would walk Petra to school, they would be seen together in the hallway. About the only time Petra saw Isabel would be at lunch. She hardly talked to Levi without the blonde girl at his side.

"I had to show her that Levi was mine!" The prone Petra demanded.

"Yes, you seem pretty possessive over Levi." Hange spoke softly.

"Of course. He was my boyfriend!" she grinned happily. "Wherever he went, I made sure to follow."

"Did you ever tell Levi you thought of him as your boyfriend?" Hange asked. Petra tsked.
