The next day, I was about to go home when one of the nurses came into the office of our department. He's holding a bouquet.

Napataas ang kilay ko pero hindi nalang iyon pinansin. I was about to leave when he went near me.

"Doc. Ellie, someone wants me to give you this." Sabi nito kaya napakunot ang noo ko.

He pushed it a little to me kaya napalayo ako bago pa mabahing.

"Who is it from?" I know it's not from Aziel, alam niyang allergic ako sa bulaklak.

"He didn't say his name but there's a letter though… according to him." Sabi nito na para bang dinagdag na lang ang according to him.

I slowly went near the flowers and looked for the letter. Agad napakunot ang noo ko ng makita ito.

What the fuck? Kanino galing ito?

"You can have it." Sabi ko nalang dito. Nanlaki naman ang mata niya.

"Doc, I don't need this." Napailing iling pa ito.

"I can't have it either. Next time, don't accept things from others. Just give it to anyone." Sabi ko dito at iniwan na siya doon.

Bahala siya, siya ang pinagbigyan, siya ang mamroblema non.

A female nurse also entered the office at mukhang inasar iyong lalaki, binasted ko daw. Baliw.

When I arrived at the dorm, natulog lang ako agad. May duty pa ko mamayang gabi. Gosh.

It was a long night after that. Cries everywhere.

Minsan nasasanay na lang ako na makarinig ng iyak gabi gabi because people lose someone important to them. Mostly mga nababawian ng buhay is yung mga naaksidente.

It's been like that for days. One time, I was on my rounds when my phone beeped.

Aziel:

Saan ka, Ellie ko?

Napataas ang kilay ko sa tanong niya. I answered him which floor I am in.

Hindi na siya nagreply kaya ipinagsawalang bahala ko nalang.

I was almost done checking all the patients here in this floor pero wala pa rin namang Aziel na dumating. Siguro nagtanong lang talaga.

I pressed the elevator and waited for it to open as I looked at my messages on the phone. Wala namang may emergency.

And if there is, they won't call me kasi patapos na duty ko.

Kaya nagrorounds nalang ako dahil after this, I can leave na.

When the door opened, natigil ako kasi andon si Aziel! Malaki ang ngiti nito sa labi ng makita ako.

"Hi?" Bati ko dito.

Iniyakap niya agad ang kamay sa bewang ko.

"Until anong oras duty mo?" Tanong nito.

"After checking the patient's next to this floor, pwede na ako umalis." Sabi ko.

Some nurses are looking at us. Maybe because they don't understand what we're saying.

"Hmm, coffee tayo?" Tanong nito kaya napangiti ako.

"Free time mo?"

I went out of the elevator. Sumunod naman siya sakin at iyong isang nurse na kasama ko mag rounds.
