6. Lost dog

Ron was nervous at the kebab stand, waiting for Avery and... Zeus.

Suddenly, he saw how the dog approached him running and start jumping around him excitedly. There was no doubt that it was Zeus.

The ginger looked from the dog to the girl who was dressed differently today. Merlin.
-Thanks for taking care of him... Seriously, I don't know how to thank you. - She said a bit hurried

-No... it's okay. I enjoy being with Zeus... - He said while patting the dog

Avery approached the boy and hugged him quickly before separating and heading to work.
-Wow. - He said smiling

He looked at Zeus who was sitting and smiled.
-She's amazing. - He said to which the dog barked while moving his tail

Ron and Zeus went to the burrow where, luckily, his mother hadn't arrived yet.
-Alright, mate. You will stay here while I'm inside. And don't go, okay? - He asked while tying him up outside the house

The ginger entered and stretched on the sofa with the most comfort and fell asleep.

Zeus, on the other hand, only wondered what Ron might be doing. He wanted to play with the ginger that looked like a carrot. He loved carrots.

It was easy to set himself free. Avery had taught him to set himself free if someday someone kidnapped him. She was obviously very smart.

When he got free, he looked through the window and noticed the giant carrot snoring. He was hungry... Why didn't the boy give him at least some water? Zeus thought how naughty the carrot was and barked to ask, at least, for something to eat.

By seeing that he didn't hear him, he went to look for food by himself. Sometimes humans were idiots... except Avery.

When Harry arrived to the burrow, he found strange to see a strap with nothing tied up outside. When he entered, he saw Ron sleeping.
-Mate... - He said waking him up - Since when are you asleep?

-Mmm... since I brought Zeus. Why? - He asked. But after seeing the brown haired's expression, he frowned - Harry?

-Ron... Zeus isn't here. - Harry said - Where did you leave him? -He asked worriedly
-Outside! Tied... - Ron said looking at the strap - Oh, God. I'm gonna die. Avery's gonna kill me. She'll hate me... Shit! - He said really worried - I must find that dog.

The brown haired and the ginger went to Weasley Wizarding Wheezes where Fred and George were having the break.
-I need your help! - Ron screamed entering the store

-What's wrong, Ronnie? - The twins asked in unison
-Ron lost Zeus. We must find him before Avery returns to the burrow in the afternoon. - Harry said watching how Ron almost passed out

-How can you lose a dog like Zeus?! You're supposed to take care of him! - Fred screamed at his brother

-Okay, he can't be far away. We'll search around the burrow. Ron, Harry, you'll search in Diagon Alley. With some luck, Zeus will come to you if he sees you. - George told Ron

-How much time do we have? - Fred asked

-Avery's coming after work so in... four hours I suppose. - The youngest ginger said

-Alright, we'll find that dog. - Harry said convinced and encouraging his best friend

If Avery had taught Zeus something, it was to behave. That's why the dog was in the line at the kebab stand.

When it was his turn, the man that attended found strange that a dog would ask for food... But because it was adorable to see it, he gave him a plate with food and another one with water.

Zeus ate calmly beside the man. If he could talk, he would've already congratulated him for preparing something so delicious.

-I don't see him, Harry. I'm lost! - Ron said while walking through the streets - Hey, hey! Isn't it that one over there?! - He asked by seeing another dog beside a couple

-Zeus! Zeus! - They began calling at the dog but he just got scared
-Who's Zeus? - The girl asked

Ron realised that it wasn't even the same tupe of dog. They had to keep searching.

Fred and George were searching for the dog around the burrow, waiting for him to come out from somewhere.
-Ron, you're beyond dead. - Fred suddenly said - If he only knew how important Zeus is for Avery.

-What are you talking about? - George asked him
-Ginny told me that they gave her Zeus when her grandmother died... If she's that Avery, Ron has a big problem. - Fred said, still searching

-So if Nicole's her mother... the company passed to her daughter when she died. - George said realising that the girl also possessed a lot of money

Everyone was searching crazily for the dog who was walking through the market calmly. As an apology for leaving without saying anything, he took a basket and started inserting carrots in it. To give it to the giant carrot of course.

Nobody said anything and it looked like the sellers were so concentrated that they didn't say anything. They didn't think that some carrots could hurt him so they let the dog take as much as he wanted.

Time passed by and Ron was more nervous every time. He walked in circles on the same place inside the burrow. Since the four guys didn't have any clue of where the dog might've gone, they had no other choice than to call Ginny.

-You did what?! - She asked really worried - Ron, you're dead. I don't know how Avery put you in charge...

-I'm sorry, okay? But I have to find him before she returns. She... she'll hate me and I won't be able to know her because I'll go to Askaban for this. - The ginger boy said nervously

Suddenly, as if it was like fate wanted it, the burrow door sounded.
-Ron? It's Avery... I came to pick up Zeus. - They heard the girl's voice, making everyone look at the worried ginger

-You have to open the door. - Harry told him
-Ron... - George said, fearing the worst

Ron was almost having a nerve attack. He had to face the consequences. Zeus was lost and he was beyond dead. He was prepared for whatever that might come.

Everyone looked at the ginger. They expected Avery not to be very harsh... But looking at the situation, the boy was more than lost.
