7. Dinner at the burrow

Ron saw how Avery waited for him with a smile and could only think on how to apologise for losing her pet.

What was he supposed to tell her? Hi, Avery. I lost Zeus. Would you like to be my girlfriend?

-Ron, at last. I thought you weren't here... - She greeted him with a hug that the ginger returned sadly

-Yeah, umm... Avery, I have to tell you something... - He said very worried and nervously

The girl looked at him a bit seriously but her expression completely changed to a happier one when she saw Zeus at the other side of the dining room with a basket full on carrots in his mouth.

The dog had entered through the window in the kitchen but nobody realised.
-Merlin, Zeus! Don't take the carrots that aren't yours. - She said smiling while watching how the dog left the carrots on the floor to greet her

-Carrots. - Ron sighed in relief, almost fainting. However, Harry held him who gave him a glass of water

-By the way, what did you want to tell me. - She asked while patting the dog

Ron looked at the girl and his mind went blank. What was he supposed to do now? Run away?
-Yeah, our brother wanted to ask you if you wanted to stay for dinner. - Another voice told her

-Oh... really? - She asked looking at the other ginger confused
-Fred Weasley at your service, pretty girl. - He flirted -Of course. We'd love if you stayed.

Avery smiled a bit shyly.
-Great... If it doesn't bother you, of course. -She said making Fred to shake his head while placing his arm over her shoulders and taking her inside the burrow

Ron looked at his brother who was clearly flirting with Avery and frowned. It couldn't be true, he didn't want her to fall in love with Fred.

He looked down at Zeus who was already looking at him while moving the tail and crouched to be at his height.
-You're a little traitor. You almost gave me a death scare. - He said while patting him

The dog went for the basket and returned to where the ginger was. He gave him the carrots, leaving Ron confused.
-What? Where did you get them? - He asked smiling - They're for me?

Zeus moved his tail, happy that the giant carrot had liked his present.
-Thank you... - Ron told him - And... sorry... for leaving you outside. It wasn't nice using you.

Avery, who was talking with Fred, looked at Ron who looked like he was talking with Zeus. She found it adorable and couldn't help but smile.

Fred noticed the gesture and looked at the girl smiling. Apparently, there could be someone perfect for Ron...
-I hope you like mom's frozen pasta. - George said while entering with the dishes

-Sorry about all this, Avery. - Ginny said to which the girl shook her head enchanted
-The truth is that I couldn't understand why Zeus liked the burrow so much but the truth is that it's really comfortable and nice. - Avery said while seating

Ron was looking at her while patting Zeus with loving eyes. The truth is that it was such the luck of meeting her that he still couldn't believe it.
-Dinner's ready. - Harry said to which everyone sat in front of the table
