"Surrounded by ghosts, tied up with rope, and now I'm getting forced into a marriage?! The one time I decide to leave my dorm- If I somehow get through this I'm never leaving those walls again!"

"Oh my, you seem so thrilled!" Eliza giggled, floating over with a bunch of ghosts in tow, "I love seeing this cheerful side of you, it's simply wonderful!"

Girl is next level delusional.

Yuu just kinda stood off to the side, as they watched Eliza fawn and squeal while Idia cried and shivered. One of the other ghosts, a long and lanky one, approached the princess with a smile on their face.

"Finally, you have found the ideal gentleman. This is truly a momentous occasion, Princess Eliza. For years upon years, ever since you were a wee child, you have dreamed of finding the ideal prince. To think that both that dream and your life were destroyed in such an instant...fate is a cruel thing."

The ghost wiped a tear from their eye. "Ah, if only your nanny reached your room in time, perhaps you would've had a chance to escape."

Eliza smiled and put her hands on the ghost's shoulders. "Oh dear, nanny. Are you still talking about the past? There is no need to be upset over it still. All those sad and painful times, it was all so I could meet my dear Idia."

The nanny ghost took a handkerchief and dabbed their eyes. "Oh princess, what admirable spirit you have."

"Heyheyheyhey! Quit making decisions for me! Don't I have the right to refuse!?" Idia interrupted, about to throw his hands up in sheer disbelief before Yuu made a motion to stop him.

Chubby readied his lance and shook his head. "What a noisy guy. You should be overjoyed that the princess chose you as her groom!" He wagged his finger in Idia's face.

"HAPPY!? To be forced to marry some ghost without any right to refuse!?"

Chubby's face fell. "You don't get it, do you?...To be together with the cheerful, benevolent princess...You are truly the most blessed upon men."

Eliza finally noticed the commotion. "Another quarrel!? Chubby, quit bullying Idia! He is my future husband after all."

"Yes...please forgive my outburst."

Another ghost burst into the room. "YOUR MAJESTY! We have a situation on our hands?"

"What's gotten you so worked up, butler?"

The butler rubbed their bald head, as they looked at a comically long piece of paper. "We have guests!"

"...Yes, butler. There are usually guests at a wedding."

"N-No, Princess! Not just any old guests! Suitors! Suitors who are making several marriage proposals to YOU!"

"WHAT!?"

"Yes, and like Idia, they are all students from NRC!"

"Huh?" Yuu murmured. What were their classmates planning?

Idia calmed down a decent amount after hearing the butler's news. "I don't understand fully, but it seems to be a chance at freedom! Hehehhe, the NRC students are all of different classes. Rich, cheerful, haughty, cute, overly conscious, and more. I'm like, the bottom of the barrel compared to those guys..."

Is this a hostage situation or a DnD session??

Eliza grasped Idia's arm. "You don't need to worry about a thing, pookie. No matter who comes, I will firmly refuse them. So please calm yourself and wait here. Yolanda, please take care of him."

Yuu didn't have time to correct her again as she floated out the room. Idia's mouth was agape, jaw threatening to hit the floor.

"P...puh....puh wuhuh....POOKIE!!?!?"

"Man, that was hard to watch." Yuu sighed.

"YOU!!!" Yuu's soul nearly left their body when Idia turned to them so fast his neck nearly snapped. "You GOTTA get me out of here!" he whisper screamed between gritted teeth.

"Alright bro, hold on. You're gonna pull a muscle." Yuu whispered back, eyes darting back and forth between him and Chubby standing by the cafeteria entrance.

Now that there's more ghost guards hanging around, it's gonna be harder for me to saw at the rope without getting caught.

Yuu stood up and cleared their throat. "I'm gonna try to distract them."

"And how the hell are you gonna-"

"GUARDS!" Yuu exclaimed, loud enough for the ghosts to hear. One of the guards came rushing over.

"Is something the matter, dear person of honor!?"

"Yes! I believe I just saw a bunch of RATS sneak into one of the vents! A whole mass of them! Those mongrels could get into the kitchen and infect all of the food prepared for the wedding! How will you feed the esteemed wedding guests without any edible dishes to serve!?"

The ghost dramatically gasped, clasping a hand over their mouth. "Oh, the horror! We cannot tolerate such uncleanliness on the Princess Eliza's Wedding day! I will look into this immediately!"

"Yes, yes! Oh, but more than just one guard will be needed for this mess. The sheer size of the group of rats...they could engulf the entire kitchen! You will need to bring an entire group in there to investigate! Lest you drown in rodents and rabies!"

"Dear god! Thank you for letting me know, person of honor. We will look into this immediately!"

The guard ghosts filed into the kitchen, and slammed the door shut. Yuu walked back to where Idia was.

"There, now I have some time to cut you free." They took out their butter knife and began cutting the ropes around his waist.

"What...what was that? You started talking all prissy! Reminded me of those Pomefiore students."

"Oh, I was just trying to match their energy. I hope my improv worked well."

"Ahem."

The teens stopped their escape attempts when they saw two of the lankier ghosts watching them.

"Sorry to interrupt...whatever you're doing. But the princess told us to get you lot ready."

Idia was ever so fearful. "Ready for what!? FOR WHAT!?"

"What are we preparing for?" Yuu asked.

"For the wedding, clearly!" One of the ghosts had a lance that was twice the size of them. And it looked like they knew how to use it. "Now, let's get a move on!"

With the utmost hospitality, the ghosts proceeded to jump them and drag them kicking and screaming into one of the nearest rooms to change into wedding attire.
