lorelei sat in a booth of a Starbucks while she wrote some lyrics, supposed to be doing schoolwork. the whole time, the barista looked like he couldn't take his eyes off lia, she tried to ignore it but he stayed, looking at her constantly.
eventually, lia got a bit thirsty and decided to order a drink.
"hi can I get a venti matcha iced late?" she asked the man who hadn't left her alone for the past 2 hours.
he was a nice-looking kid, with brown hair and brown eyes, super tall.
though he was cute and her type, lia did not need another boy in her romantic life.
"of course, quick question. are you lorelei Allen?" he asked, to which she nodded, figuring he wanted a picture or something.
"no way oh my god I love your music, I relate to your lyrics so much." he smiled, making the drink. lia laughed and smiled back, loving that people liked her music. a few moments later, she took the drink and walked back.

over the past few days, lia had been working on homework at the Starbucks, accidentally befriending the boy. which was not her intention. she wanted to steer clear of him, worried he would have a thing for her.
she learned his name was Isaiah, Isaiah mork. he was nice, and actually wanted to be friends with her, she was just reading the signals wrong.
at 1 pm, lia walked into the Starbucks and came up to the counter, Isaiah was there and ready to take her order.
"venti matcha iced latte?" he asked, to which lia smiled and nodded. she waited as he made her drink, making small talk with him.
"How are you liking Somerville so far?" he asked
"it's awesome. just like I remember it. plus I'm with my family now." she responded, setting her things up at the bar table that was up against the little kitchen area, so she and Isaiah could talk.
"you're from here?" he asked, leaning over the counter towards the girl.
"yeah, I was born and raised here. I moved to la when I was 9," she laughed
after a while of Isaiah taking orders and lia writing lyrics, he came back over and talked to her.
"you're really fun, we should hang out sometime," he proposed, catching lias attention. she really didn't want to be an asshole, but now she had to let him down.
"um I'm so sorry you're cool and all, but I'm not ready to jump into the dating world again," she studdered, feeling bad. Isaiah laughed and shook his head.
"no not like that. like friends. also, I'm gay, nothing to worry about," he broke the news, and lorelies jaw dropped, she felt bad and also embarrassed.
"oh my god i feel so bad, of course we can hang out I'm so sorry," she gasped, all while Isaiah laughed. he shook his head and told her it was alright before she also broke into laughter.
"here's my number. i would love to hangout," she handed him a piece of paper with her number written on it.
