lorelai and alahna walked into the room where the dinner was, a woman standing behind a table welcoming them right at the entrance.
"hello beautiful ladies. what's your names?" the woman asked while holding a clipboard with a few sheets of paper on it. the desk was covered in name tags for the attending people, presumably because the party was for hotel residents only.
"alahna estrella and lorelai allen," lore answered before the woman handed the girls the tags. they clipped them onto their dress as they walked to the large table with everyone but matt and scarlet sitting at it.
"you guys look very nice," justin commented from across the table, just trying to be polite.
"oh hi justin, haven't seen you in months," alahna snarked, earning a playful slap from lia.
everyone noticed isaiah acting strange, he was worried matt chickened out because he hadn't been seen.
right before the waiter came by, matt came running to the table. of course, the only seat available was right next to lia.
she tried to ignore him and to focus on figuring out what was going on with isaiah, but when she looked back to him he was relaxed with a smile.
she stayed focused on him though, noticing the way him and nick acted. they were private about their relationship -lia was the only one who knew they had more than just feelings for eachother, though matt and chris caught on quick- but they still seemed to be connected.
whether it was a hand on a thigh, an arm around the back of a chair, or interlocked hands under the table, they were connected. not to mention the constant flirting and giggling.
she was happy for them. they seemed happy.
and it's not like they were rushing into it. no one knew but they had been texting ever since lorelai met isaiah. it went from nick being a protective friend trying to figure out who isaiah was, to nick getting nervous around him 24/7.
the entire dinner, matt and lorelai had insane tension.
all he wanted to do was announce his love for her right then and there. the only reason he didn't was because he needed to talk to her in private first.
lorelai was insistent on ignoring him, but that got harder and harder when their elbows touched on the table. and scarlet and her husband sitting at the table (squishing them closer) didn't help either.
after dinner, lorelai watched as matt got up and went to the bathroom.
why am i looking at him. he's walking to the bathroom, that's not attractive. AND he hurt me.
ok but damn he looks good always.
when he came back, she moved her cardigan that was laid on the table so he could sit. he ended up slipping a note on the table in the cardigans place before she had put it back down seconds later.
she hadn't noticed it, but she soon did when she got up tk go to the bathroom and grabbed the jacket.
she saw thw note and quickly swept it up before anyone could notice, praying to the clouds no one would ask her what it was.
lorelai didn't go straight to the table after peeing. nope, now she was sat on the floor of the hallway leading out to the main floor while holding the note in her hand.
should i unfold it and read it?
fuck it.
