20- (returning to) normal?

lorelai sat up in her bed, her stomach growling. its been a week since she and matt had her little thing at the beach, and she was starting to get back to eating. her body wasn't used to it after spending weeks surviving off redbull and gum.

she dressed into leggings and a hoodie, happy to have her leg back.

her hair up and her glasses on as she drove to school, chase Atlantic blasting in the speakers.

god cassie is such a good song by them.

when she walked into school, she didn't get that usual wave of sadness. it always set the mood for the day, which meant lia was always sad.

but today, the wave was happy. she was happy.

matt coming to talk to her was the best thing that could happen to her. she somehow snapped out of it and was now normal again. atleast a little bit.

either way she didn't care.

she was just glad she could walk into the school building without immediately wanting to off herself.

that's luxury to her at the moment.

after school, lia and jacob were watching pretty little liars in the living room.

jacob had been acting uptight all day, as if he had to tell his little sister something.

he wasn't slick, she knew something was up. but she knew jacob had a history of bottling everything he feels and then blowing up later, so she was careful when attempting to get him to spit it out.

when jacob has an 'explosion' -as they call it- he typically gets burt out after for a while. that's why when lorelai knows something is up, she tries her best to get him to talk about it before anything catastrophic happens.

but it wasn't just today he was uptight. the past month he's been weird.

does he know about josh hurting me?
does he know about my eating disorder?
did something happen with him and dad on that work trip?

everything raced in her mind as she tried to come to a conclusion, nothing fitting perfectly.

welp, here we go. it's now or later.

"what's going on with you?" lia asked after she paused her favorite show, looking to the other side of the couch to see her favorite blondie.

"what do you mean? i'm fine." he complained, yeah right.

"ever since that work trip with dad ended you have been acting a bit strange," she added, both of the kids fidgeting with the shared blanket.

"fine, just hear me out before you start," he sighed, begging. his sister nodded with reassurance before he continued.

"i'm going on tour this summer," he spat, lia gasped.

he'd never been on tour fully. he did a few single shows here and there but they were all only 3 days at the most away from lia. if he went on tour that means she'd be stuck at home, alone with their step father.

a recipie for disaster.

"what?" she asked with a cracking voice, scared for what layed ahead.

"hold on." he announced, knowing she was scared. lorelai shut up, but the fear stayed.

"i want you to come with me,"

"huh?" she asked quietly, she'd only been to a few concerts of his. all with their mother, all before she had become an artist herself.

"yeah! maybe you could open for me, you could bring the triplets, we'd have a ton of fun and it's a great way to finish off your highschool career," he pleaded; all the information hitting her at once.

she'd never been on stage singing before. the most she did on stage was dance and wave a pride flag around.

but if she agreed to this she'd be able to do all that, with her friends, AND sing for her fans.

on the other hand, she couldn't say no. their step father never goes with jacob to concerts which meant if lia didn't go she'd have to deal with him on her own.

"holy shit," she whispered, the boy in front of her smiling widely.

"yea?"

she thought for one last second.

"hell yes!" she exclaimed, getting up and hugging her brother, happy tears forming for the both of them.
