Chapter 20: A good start?

That morning I had got up I had got ready for the day and I went over to Anny's house, before I left I seen Alex's book on my desk and I remembered that I was going to stop by Alex's house on the way home but I figured I would ask my mom to take it with her when she was coming to pick me up. I got to Anny's house and I went up to her room

As I knocked on her door I had asked if I could come in, she had said I could and I cane inside the room

"Hey Anny, how you doing?"

"I'm fine" she was eating a piece of cake at the time so I decided to joke around

"Hey is there any left for me?"

"Yup, its down in the kitchen just go grab a slice" I don't think that she knew that I was joking but I still went and got a slice of cake

"So why did you guys get cake?"

"No reason really I just asked my mom if she could get it earlier"

"Alright then" We didn't talk much well we were eating the cake but we did say something every now and then until we finished

"Hey uuhh Cassie?"

"What is it?"

"My birthday is in a week you coming?"

"I'll be there, promise" Anny had grinded widely and we started talking about it until I had to go

As I called my mom to pick me up I told her to get the book off my desk, I waited for her to come over and when she did I got in the car and she handed me the book we stayed quiet for the most part but we talked a little as well, we finally arrived at Alex's house and I knocked on the door when he opened it I gave him the book and told him that he left it at my house.

He asked me if I was staying over but I told him that I had to get home and I got back in the car and my mom drove me home.

I went to my room and laid down on my bed I was gonna try to fall asleep but then I saw a piece of paper on my desk so I went over to look at it it had a drawing of 2 people on it then some words crossed out below it which read Will you go out with me? I had looked over the paper a few more times, I set down the paper and sat down on my bed and I knew it was one of Alex's papers but someone must have taken it out and I tried to think of who, then I remembered my mom was the only other person to touch Alex's note book. I started to think to myself and by the end of the night I knew that I had moved on from Jacob and knew that I wanted to date Alex.

After a few hours of thinking to myself of what could happen in the future I had then went onto the computer and played some games until I got tired and went to sleep.

I had woken up after I fell out of my bed and I stood up quickly I looked around then looked over at the clock, 1:20 am I had got ready for later even though it was so early I finally went downstairs and as I was walking down the stairs I seen my dad and when he saw me he looked surprised I was up so early

"Cassie? What are you doing up so early?"

"I just woke up earlier then normal and didn't want to get back to sleep"

"Well okay but be quiet your mother is still asleep"

"Alright"

I had went to the kitchen and grabbed a quick snack I had then watched a little bit of TV but I turned down the volume do o would not wake up my mom, ones I was done watching TV I had went back up yo my room and played some games on the computer for a little while. I eventually fell asleep after I got in bed after awhile.

I woke up again a few hours later and I went down stairs again my mom was awake now so I was able to watch TV at the normal volume I do, but when my mom was walking by I had asked her if she could take me over to Alex's house later and she had said yes. I had went outside after a little bit and just walked for a little thinking to myself and by the time I was walking back inside I had thought a pet would be really fun to have around but my mom was allergic to most of my favorite kinds of pets.

Later my mom had said that Anny's mom had called and that if I wanted to visit, I didn't want to seem mean and not go over to Anny's but I also really wanted to go to Alex's house but at the end I was going over to Anny's house.

When I arrived at Anny's house Alex had opened the door and let me in so I was happy that I was going to be able to talk to him, I walked in and talked to Alex as we walked to Anny's room when we got there we all started talking and watched TV for a little while. Anny had asked Alex if he was going to come to her birth day party and he had said that he was going to come, we all talked about Anny's birth day next week we all made some jokes and then started talking and joking about random stuff. After a few hours Anny's parents had told us that Anny was going to be going down to her grand parents in a couple hours so we had to go Alex had come down to my house and we talked along the way and well we were at my house, after a short time my dad came in and asked us if we wanted something to eat, we both said yes and he went out of my room

"Cassie"

"What?"

"Isn't it just a little awkward to see your dad every day and know that he wasn't there for most of your life?"

"At first it was a little but it isn't anymore, why do you want to know?"

"I just wanted to ask it because it would seem like it would be awkward for you"

"Okay? Is that all you wanted to know?"

"Well if you don't mind-" he had sighed like he didn't really want to ask the question "do you know why he left?"

I seen why he didn't want to ask the question but I answered as best I could "No, I actually don't know why he left he doesn't seem like he wants to talk about it"

"Oh, okay sorry for asking"

"It was no trouble" at that time my dad had come in and it was obvious that the food was done when he asked us if he wanted anything to eat and just went to get it, after we ate we just started plying video games until Alex had to go I had felt happy that we got to talk for the time but I was so nervous around him and hoped that it wasn't to obvious that I was really nervous and I had just played some games on my phone until I was tired and went to sleep
